Based on all the raving reviews in the US I'm wondering if the Canadian mosquitos are built different?

I think you just solved our dilemma- we have an old oak tree in our back yard and was bringing in the the New Year( 2025) and low and behold there was a flickering green light way up on top of out trees- needless to say we got binoculars and couldn’t make anything out the next day- waited for night fall got out our be be gun but was still bewildered by the green flickering light( thought it was a stuck drone? Same night was all that weird fog that has enveloped the earth- hope fully you solved it as I am creeped out enough from the drones, fog , and everything else they are throwing at us in Florida!

Quite admerable. I do alot of crownland campin & love a good thunder box. I take a shovel on occasion to relocate full boxes. Cheers

Saw a crazy version of this last night in north GA. At the very tops of a number of hardwood trees it looked like blue fireflies. The lights were very blue and pulsed on and off over a five or six second pulse fading on and off. What’s crazier is that they all did this in perfect unison even on different trees hundreds of feet apart. It was the wildest thing I’ve ever seen in the woods!

Hello. Could someone please advise me on which gas cartridges are suitable for the Thermacell repeller? It's about the composition of the gas that the gas cartridge should contain! I haven't read anywhere whether a gas with a higher ratio of isobutane or propane is suitable. I read in one review that isobutane is better, because propane contains substances that, when burned, destroy the device over time and then it stops working as it should. Does anyone have any experience with this, please?

Ithey rest upwind they use the wind to direction to find you when their light they can fly into the wind once full they take advantage of the wind to fly back but generally very difficult to keep mossies away all these products are just money spinners. Best to cover up and stay inside at dawn and dusk.

A good DIY fuel for hobo stoves is 1\3 petrol 2\3 diesel to make 1Ltr add 250ml liquid soap. Fairy liquid etc. its basically DIY napalm and when in something like a shoe polish tin burns for a long time. If in a bothy during winter its a good heater. Enjoy 😂

I know this is an old video, but here's the reason I keep talking about it to anyone who asks. Guess what cast IRON pans are made of?😂 Is your kitchen full o salt, moisture, acid? You DAMN skippy😂 Alton Brown created the weak battery scenario using a seasoned cast iron vessel with a tomato based dish inside, aluminum foil between the lid and the pot, and sat it in the fridge on GOOD EATS years ago. But somehow we cannot convince people not to treat cast iron this way. BTW sweat contains water, salt, acid and bacteria...🤔fingerprints will rust a carbon steel knife blade that is not oiled or waxed. 😂 All this stuff applies to carbon steel cookware as well...on and on...

I found this years after it was posted. I was recently checking and if needed replacing the Bic lighters I place in each and every fishing tackle box I own as a backup. I found one that looked foggy. It was sealed in the original package, cellophane, as were the others. They were over 40 years old. The foggy one would not strike a flame with the fuel, which ignited with a separate fire source, was still as full as when I purchased it. The bic was still sealed and never opened, only around fresh water but sealed in original packaging. Granted it was the only one among several that failed. I have since replaced all the backup Bic lighters with new fresh ones. I hope this adds a little food for thought. Thanks for this info video.

They say that it supposed to just make the mosquitoes hypersensitive to where they don’t bite. I have the portable one doesn’t work lotta money for fuel and the square pesticide.

I'm still itching and scratching my whole body, just from watching those mosquitos. Thanks for the review, i was seeing and ad, it sounded kind of like it could work. But i think there is no way to illustrate better how bad it works than your video. I mean seriously with that density of mosquitoes there should have been more than 6 mosquitoes in the trap that just happened to get inside. I am pretty sure it must even scare mosquitoes away...

Their facebook ad I saw claimed that if you buy the product and your mosquito problem has not cleared within 180 days you get a FULL refund - and you don't even have to return it!!! Imagine running a business with that policy.......I noticed that the Facebook post had about 1000 comments - of which NONE of them were negative, and EVERY one of them had a nice informative reply from the ad poster! Can you imagine that on Facebook? An ad with zero negative comments? So I enquired on Facebook asking them to clarify this 180 day return policy of theirs, and of course my comment was deleted, presumably because it sounded mildly skeptical. I also noticed ads on KZbin with people posing as ordinary people doing "reviews" on this product. But they all sound so forced and similarly scripted, and are filmed in a similar way and raving with positivity. So dodgy its not funny. I thought your review was going to be another one of those, but this review here is the one everyone needs to see. It's a case of "if it seems too good to be true, then it probably is". BTW have you found anything that does actually work?

Nothing ruins a walk or run more than swarming gnats, mosquitoes, biting flies and untrained off leash dogs. That's why autum and winter are the best times of year to enjoy the outdoors.

I have a ThermaCell300 and I don't even bother packing it anymore. It does NOTHING! It may be attracting them for all I know but even after running for 30-45 minutes, I notice no difference in the mosquitos at all.

Thanks for the review I'm sure its accurate however... My only guess is that its region dependent, here in B.C. it works amazing. Never used it in extreme mosquito areas though just where you would get 20 bites an hour sort of thing and with it running I get zero.

This review should have a million likes. You gave this device every chance to catch the "millions" of mosquitos it claims to catch. I saw the ad on Facebook and immediately came to KZbin to verify. As most Facebook ads I've seen, it's a pure scam. Thanks for braving some of the worst mosquito conditions I've ever seen to bring us this review!

We bought one just because it was fairly cheap and we needed to try something. We'd had one backpacking trip cut short due to the pesky little blood suckers - we were hoping this would help us out on the next one. I'd seen this review prior to the purchase so I was aware it might not do anything. To our surprise it actually helped a great deal for us. It didn't give us the 15' dome of protection - it gave us about 5-6' of protection. Just enough space for us to relax in. I only ended up with three bits... Could be that I didn't use any deodorant that day and "my" scent just naturally repelled the skeeters?!?!? lol

Maybe it only kills US mosquitos. Maybe Canadian mosquitos are to tough.

Complete waste of money and a sketchy company! I placed an order thru Facebook and immediately tried to cancel my order. Huh. They said the order was already in the "shipping department", even though I ordered on a Saturday afternoon and they are located in Australia. I ended up with 4 of these stupid things and now I am trying to return for a refund. Save your money! I wish I would have found this review before pressing the "submit order" button!
