Excellent review of an excellent product Dave. Dan has been hands on with me, awesome communication also, in making me a haversack 2 right to my specs. He is more than willing to go the extra mile to make sure that his customers are getting exactly what they want. I can tell you are pleased with your RRT haversack, and I can't wait to get mine! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and for showing us this awesome Bag! Cheers

@@BushcraftDave what mods did you make ???
@BushcraftDave6 жыл бұрын
Just a couple of simple mods. I removed the coating and gun blued it, sanded the handle and used a walnut stain 😁. Recently I added an overstrike leather cover
@hedgerunner6 жыл бұрын
@@BushcraftDave ya know I've been debating whether or not to do the over strike pad ...I just cant decide if I want to do a collar or leather wrap.. I have stained some of mine I like the red mahogany stain..have you posted a video of your mods??
@BushcraftDave6 жыл бұрын
@@hedgerunner I haven't posted a video yet but I do post photos on my instagram, are you on Instagram? instagram.com/p/Bp3bvjRBoP8/ IG is a great place to get ideas for mods. I would suggest doing a paracord cord wrap as the overstrike protection. it'll work just as well, you probably already have some on hand, and you can use the paracord if need be.

Great 👍 review Dave. I believe I’ve mentioned before that I’ve heard that Dan’s craftsmanship is awesome. My friend Alex at Liberty Rogue Outdoors is a field tester and spokesman for Raging River and have watched his reviews on some items. Also my buddy Brandon at Triumph Screen Printing is having one made in black (special request) by Dan. Thanks for the awesome review and I’m glad I caught a few of your videos this morning with coffee although your cowboy coffee I’m sure rocked better than mine. Thanks for sharing and we’ll catch ya on the next episode. ATB Mike

Thanks Mike! Great people there, I follow them on KZbin too :) I love supporting American small businesses, it’s to tough with all the taxes, fees, rules and regulations. I’m going to compare this to the Hidden Woodsman haversack in a couple If weeks. I really appreciate you watching and commenting Mike! I’ve been away from KZbin for a while and trying to catch up lol. Instagram is more fun I think 🤔

@BushcraftDave6 жыл бұрын
Fire bans in the PNW? Dang that sucks. It’s always dry and fire season down here. We can’t have any fires unless it’s in an approved fire ring, that’s when bans aren’t in effect.

Thanks for the question, I’ll post a picture and I’ll show you. I have different tinders, some I’ve used many times and some new ones that I’m experimenting with. Different ways to start a fire- flint and steel, fire piston, firesteel, magnifying glass,etc... a fire bellow, fatwood, charcloth, etc..... I’ll post a photo to show everything

Not exactly the same, and things have changed a bit. The bag still looks good, made well, but he doesn’t give you the extra pouches anymore, he uses Dunlop zippers instead of YKK, and he forgot to put the Velcro in my CCW pocket, it upset me a bit. So ask before you buy, there might be better options out there.
