Rothco, is one of, if not the only company that makes paracord for the US Army parachutes now. Paracord's strength is in it length or linearly not in its width that is why it shouldn't really be used when there is a chance for it to rub against any kind of course material like tree bark. Good to see you and Suzanne out in the woods Sepp my friend. Cheers, John

Just a thought, but welding blankets made from kevlar are remarkably strong, come in many sizes and withstand molten slag, so spitting fires are a cakewalk. Kevlar rope is also great if you don't have to cut it. Thank you for your submission. You got a subscription.

You can make net with power cord. It has multiple strands that can be tied alternately to form a net. This can be used to make traps and for catching fish.

Hallo Sepp, fun in the woods with string, what's not to like. Cheap knock off para cord I guess. Your Cross Knot looks like Reef Knot, from Old Norse for rib and why you call reducing sail on a boat reefing. The Greeks and Romans knew it as a Hercules Knot, but that's probably enough trivia for one day. :-) Alles gute mein freund. Al

Thanks, Sepp & Susanne. I love to watch people use rope that know what they're doing. I could never get the hang of tying "knots". A "good" para-cord is supposed to hold 550 pounds of weight; hence the name "550 parachute cord".

The second bit with the hammock, the English term for the knot is the square knot.
@soisitimpossible6 жыл бұрын
It's called the reef knot otherwise known as the dead mans knot, cause if tied incorrectly it's prone to failure! Good knot though one of my three go to knots.

Paracord has a WORKING load of about 120lbs.
@TwoPlusTwoEqualsFive328 жыл бұрын
People need to stop using paracord, most if all is fake these days and it just pollutes the place, for basic camping cordage you should use good quality natural fibre cordage, that way if you lose it, or lose snippets of it it will just break down and leave no trace.
