Күн бұрын

We continue making improvements to the Viking Shelter by making a bed, wood log store, peel bark and various other bits and pieces. I then cook us up a feast for lunch.....steak and cheese sandwiches with salad, fried potatoes and a nice dipping sauce. The next episode will feature us adding the supports to the roof and collecting more bark. I'm absolutely loving this build and can't wait for it to be completed so that we can have some fun overnighters in it, cooking up some big chunks of meat over that long fire pit.
Thanks for following the behind the scenes. Mikes dad has also been filming some behind the scenes, so go check his videos out too!
....PLEASE SUBSCRIBE, THANKS!

Hey peeps, loving the videos, keep them coming! Just had a thought for your Viking Shelter - perhaps build in some window hatches for light and ventilation for the fire. You could use cut sections of bark for the windows (with a generous overlap to stop leaks) and wooden props inside? You've probably got that covered already, but I thought it might be worth a mention..

Lol, hillarious outro! Like "...you probably can't even see me..." and talking about the construction while filming that old hovel! :D :D :D Now, where to start? Ok, right away got to compliment that lunch. It looked really delicious, but fortunately for me, I watched it after dinner while munching on these small waffles with maple syrup for a dessert, so this time I didn't drool all aver my keyboard :) Had I watched it half an hour earlier, the story would've been different. Next: seems you guys in the UK have more helis and planes in the air then you have birds and they seem pretty indiscriminate. In lot of UK bushcrafters' vids I can hear them, they plague even Paul Kirtley :D For the splitting: if you have suitable branches, try making the wedges out of fatwood. The resin makes the wood harder and more resistant to wear. And last but not least, thank you for mentioning the bowls I asked you about earlier, as well as for getting them into focus. They really are something else, especially the one with the onions, so thin! If you get around to making a video about them I would greatly appreciate it. (Also no Amber-on-screen-time? ) (And would it be possible to patch the holes in bark with your tar pine glue or is it too much/unnecessary? ) Oof, those were my five (times ten) cents. (Watched your life stream today when I could get a bit of a break at work, otherwise I just listened with a cell phone in my pocket and an earphone in one of my ears. Wasn't able to chime in as often as I would've liked beacause of that, perhaps next time. But when I was paying attention, I really enjoyed it - lots of Amber's antics, funny narrative and a moment of suspense when that guy started looming behind you and getting ever closer, kind of a found footage style thriller/horror :D
