3:02 i find that disguising your tank as a different countries tank can lead to some fun bounces if you do it right. I have a panzer that i managed to make look like it has a pointed turret with a sloped front hull plate.I almost never get shot in the drivers hatch. Also dont make it nice and neat, leave bushes sticking over edges or at weird angles, it makes it more natural looking and breaks up the silhouette. Our brains are designed to focus on straight lines and sharp corners because those do not usually occur naturally, nature is usually more random and chaotic. The number one biggest disadvantage besides the whole "target the guy with bushes because bushes" is you lose any chance you might have of being mistaken as dead. they might nit see you if you are clever, but nobody will ever think you are dead.

There is another dirty method of applying your bushes: MAKE YOURSELF BIGGER THAN YOU ARE! this is particularly useful in tanks that have off center turrets and ones that are open with crew sticking out. you can add a ton of empty space to your tank by having the bushes stick out and make it harder to recognize your silouette. and Hans will have something to hide behind to be less obvious.

Been thinking of buying some but im never sure which ones to buy (which is one of the reasons i got none yet). This guide will come in handy when i finally get around to it! Since im playing mainly sweden, most tanks already have some kind of camo (after a certain amount of kills that is) for every environment and since im playing at a BR where thermals dont exist yet it has worked well enouth in forests and alike but in desert maps its been a pain to hide. One thing to note for anyone using bushes is be carefull of Antennas and how they blend into the background, cant tell you how many times i saw a bush at 800+ meters with an antenna sticking out the top (on a tank without antenna i would have thought it was just a random bush, but it had an antenna so... xD). Perks of having good zoom sights on alot of tanks i guess xD

I hate how ugly and unrealistic bushes make the game look. I'm an old player and I have all but one of the original 6 pack bushes and I rarely use them, if I do it's always just to make my tank look cool and realistic which is a lot more fun I think. Sticking a bunch of shrubs and leaves on the front of your tank just makes the game look like shit.

yeah I play with fire from gunsight so I only add bushes in a way it makes sense where it wouldn't obstruct the optics but people just plaster 5 floating bushes on their tank that completely hides their tank.

Same. Got 5/6 bush slots but stopped using them unless I think they look cool/realistic. It pisses me off when people put the bushes at stupid angles so the look like a wall of unrealistic bush and you can’t tell what type of tank you are fighting. It just screams “I have my settings set to give me every little advantage possible”. War thunder isn’t necessarily a “fun” game for me, but is eye candy for someone who likes tanks. So naturally I want the game to look pretty.

the way it looks in game doesn't look realistic at all the way most people apply them and it's pretty difficult to get your vehicle looking realistic and nice with bushes, most people just pile up whatever they can on the front of their tank which usually includes plants from various different parts of the world. it looks horrendous.

If gaijin claims that bushes solely serve cosmetic purposes and are not P2W, then there should not be any advantage to be gained from using a mod that gets rid of those so-called "cosmetic" enhancements. But because they DO see it as cheating, implying there are advantages to be gained from eliminating bushes, only shows that Gaijin knows bushes are a P2W and unfair mechanic. And is something we as a community should combat, not indulge in.

@@alexroode2659 It's a simulator problem only. In RB (and AB) the gun sight is from the end of the barrel, so you can't block it. In sim it's from where the gun sight on the tank actually is, which is usually inside the turret, meaning all those bushes block you from seeing anything.

The easiest fix gaijin could do is force the fire from gunsight and then people have to actually think about where to put the bushes instead of just vomiting them all over. As is there are about as pay to win as a newly added premium.

Any tank, but only 1 per tank per bush you've bought. So if you bought/got a "banana leaf", you can only put one on it.

i have all of my item slots on my ASU-57 filled with bushes, i call my ASU-57 the bush because it is almost indistinguishable from bushes bc i mix up the types in a way the covers everything. I am a terrible person. but i almost always use it with tanks 1BR higher so im slightly less of a terrible person I think.

I just bought 6 big bushes that I liked. My favorite is the banana leaf one. I just try to cover as much surface area as possible. My real tactic is to place my bushes, play the game, and adjust my bushes after I notice where I tend to get shot. For example, I've been playing trucks with exposed turrets, and I was focusing more on covering the truck and less on the turret. I started covering the turret more and got better results. For some vehicles, I actually camouflage them from the top down, so I look like a bush from the sky. I do that when CAS keeps pooping on me.

Videos out dated. Bushes are now stripped off by artillery, bombs, and being hit by enemy fire. You only get to set one bush per vehicle for each one you buy (because, $ of course). You said not to buy the "dried brush" bushes, but they are useful in that they aren't obvious "BUSH", but they do help obscure and they match any map (even deserts) . Most players learn to "see" the distinctive pattern of bushes.
