That Bothrops strike at 3:15 demonstrates exactly why they are responsible for so many snake bites in Central and South America. The way it can flail its body in one direction, and miss it's target, and then throw itself in a totally different direction another few feet forward, within a split second is truly terrifying!

Bushmaster and Fer de Lance are two snakes to respect in Central America and Northern South America....The vital rule about trekking through those wooded areas is step on top of a log and not over it. Stepping over it may step down on a snake which will get one bit.

When i get in better shape financially I’m going to start helping out. I just had some unexpected expenses that pretty much devastated me but I’m climbing back up and getting it back together slowly but in a positive direction at least. I really enjoyed what I’ve seen from you so far and i think educating people about these animals is extremely important so folks will stop killing them when they encounter them. It’s crazy how a person will attack and kill a snake and never realizes they are the aggressive one not the snake. The snake didn’t automatically come at you with a shovel. Like a madman lol.

I don't keep venomous snakes, so I am no expert, but I follow numerous channels that have bushmasters. I 100% believe you but I have never seen a bushmaster go ballistic. Fer de Lance, all the time. But even in the wild I have never seen a bushmaster strike at an individual. Obviously it happens; but they seem so chill.

Beautifully done enclosures/exhibits. Beautiful snakes! I applaud your respectful approach to handling. I can’t decide which snake that I saw in this video is the most beautiful. That black-headed bushmaster is stunning and impressive, but I thought the urutu was equally gorgeous. What you said about antivenin on hand is something more venomous keepers need to take heed of.
@nathanlambshead47782 жыл бұрын
My very limited experience with snakes never involved pit vipers. Growing up in South Africa, we had none. I can attest to cobras being easy to handle (once you know the basics) but I would never categorize a mamba, especially a black, in the same class as cobras. I think I would rather deal with a pit viper. But then again, my experience in no way makes me anything more than a rank amateur compared to you. Love your videos.

Do you have a golden lancehead (Bothrops insularis)?
@patrickmollohan30822 жыл бұрын
They are only found on snake island in S. America. They cant be accessed and caught bc Nrazil will toss you in the slammer for getting on the island. Plus their venom has evolved into 5x the toxicity of land based Bothrops. Willy can give you the scoop on if you can get one. I'm gonna say NO, bc once the snakes on the island die they will be totally extinct.

I've heard that rhinos and most bitis are harder than most snakes to take care of is this true?.. the urutus I probably spelled that wrong but in my opinion are 1of the most beautiful snakes in the bothrops category..
@VenomCentral2 жыл бұрын
No, they are not that difficult, if you know the proper husbandry of the species, nothing is as difficult as it seems. The Rhino Viper is notorious for respiratory infections since most people don't know the difference between wet and humid. Thanks for sharing and thanks for watching!

There are a lot of un discovered pit vipers that had just been founded.. and it looks like a few videos I've seen on the other sites these giant pit vipers are really a delight to see. but really aside from the fear snake od Australia the bushmaster tops the list of deadly venom. thank u for more on the black headed bushie

You have nerves of steel and some big balls my friend. Couldn't pay me to handle that bushmaster. Had a guy in Maryland that had some illegal dangerous snakes and one of them killed him. They found him dead in his house. I think it was a Black Mamba.
