I've had one of these scopes for the last 4 months or so, 4.5-27 in moa and it is a great scope. The ret can become quite thick if shooting small targets at range (rabbits to maybe 600 before it has obscured the head) but all in all, a great scope that's repeatable and reliable.

The Athlon Ares BTR 4.5-27x50 has several better reticle options and is illuminated with more elevation travel 80moa vs 50-60moa for the Forge.

i'm a bit late to this vid but bushnell has become my favourite brand having 3 different models to suit the different calibers also have a meuller (very happy with that one ) and a vortex diamond back tac being the most expensive one of my scopes (in australia they are not cheap as in america ) which for the money wasnt all that worth the extra , just feel you get the same quality if not better in a cheaper but same level bushnell , great video mark easy to understand and imformative

A scope that I had heard some talking about it on KZbin is TRACT Toric scope. After I continue to see people talking about this scope, I got my hands one and I love it! But, I haven't seen any reviews on it other than a guy, a former SF guy to give it, a work-out and report back his findings, about the TRACT scope. Have you heard about TRACT scopes?

MarkandSam AfterWork My TRACT Toric HD 5-20x50 with Schott German Glass definitely rivels Schmidt & Bender for 1/4-1/3 the Price depending on model. They have a new PRS focused Reticle that just came out aswell. I want to get a 40mm IOR to compare, too many Toys to buy and never enough Money.

Currently on my third Tract Toric which is a 4.5-30x56. My other priors were 2 of their 4-20x50 Torics which had fantastic glass but ended up parting with both due to their lowish 65moa elevation and the 4.5-30x56 is much better for my use. Much greater elevation travel of 100-110moa and with a broader magnification range from 4.5x to 30x which is still very clear. They can definitely compete with much higher priced scopes.

Do you find the numbers on the Christmas tree reticle get in the way? I find they are often in the way for a precise wind hold when the required hold is at 1 mill. I would prefer them the outside of the tree. I usually dial elevation and hold windage so it is not that big a deal breaker. (It Simalr to the vortex reticle.) Thanks for the great review.

Hi, I didn't have that issue, but I find it depends on the style of shooting, all these fairly busy reticles will end up getting in the road for some shooting/spotting, but this one is done quite well had performed well for the stuff we did with it, glad you like, Cheers

You need to isolate the problem. Try changing the scope rings first. If it still has poi shifts then try a different scope.

@comeonsense2022 Жыл бұрын
Poi shifts from adjusting the side focus parallax can be expected in cheaply made or poor quality scopes but should be very minor even in a Chinese made scope costing $1000. Go and watch Cyclops Bushnell AR 4.5-18x40 scope review.

It's very similar to the Athlon Ares BTR 4.5-27x50 but the Ares has more elevation travel 80moa vs 60moa for the Bushnell. The glass is also slightly better on the Athlon. Both are/were made in China. Not sure if Bushnell switched to Korea on their latest Forge resurrection. Bushnell warranty in the US is currently shoddy.

The concept of the BE-3 is good, but it is neither fish nor fowl: I have sighted in two (2) of these, one on a Sako .223, the other on an Anschutz 30-06. Unfortunately the power only goes up to 16 and my in opinion one could use the markings within most scopes to reach out to most target to say 500 metre. It is not easy to interpret the manual and the "drop figures" are only a guide and a rough one at that - this is certainly a scope/rifle combination that should be attempted by someone who can read, who can shoot (of course) and have a lot of time on their hands to confirm the POI versus the drop figure. I would say that if the power setting could go to say 32, then one could easily put the orange dot on a target much further out than 500 metre without having to remember what hold-over to use. The range finder facility of the scope is spot on. The gent whom I did the Sako .223 for is very happy and headshoots at 400 metre, with some sort of support: just press the rangefinder, see the orange dot move to the required position, squeeze the trigger.

@@brunoterlingen2203 Once zeroed at 100 yards/metres could you not use Strelok to validate the markings ? Validate elevation at say 400 yards/metres and use the apps calculated muzzle velocity . Once entered use the reticle picture to attain the hash values . If it's FFP surely the values will remain constant whatever magnification setting . Just a thought to save a little money and ammo .
@brunoterlingen2203
@brunoterlingen2203 4 жыл бұрын
@@foxtales4809 I am not sure what you are getting at: I use both a chronograph and two (2) ballistics programs, these tools are only a guide. It is best to shoot and obtain your own date for that rifle/cartridge combination. Re the BE-3, the manual states that one should look at the data out to 700 yards - not always possible for most people. If you are talking about "standard" scopes, then again it is necessary to obtain your own DOPE (Date Of Previous Engagement) and place your own drop figures next to the distance shot at on a piece of paper - once you have done that, you can either twiddle with your turret dial to obtain the correct elevation for the distance that you wish to shoot at, or you could set your scope on the zero distance related to your MPBR and use the hash marks as a guide to hold over. @@brunoterlingen2203 I may have misunderstood your comment. I thought you were implying there was a need to confirm each hash by shooting to confirm poi on each as the manual is only a rough guide . My point was , rather than putting rounds down range, it may be more prudent to make use of a ballistic app. I used strelok (pro) as an example as I know that would show the ret' with distances. I should add in the past I have found S' P' to be very reliable. My apologies if I misinterpreted your comment.

I'm not convinced that Richard Utting isn't in the pocket of his supplier . His early reviews seemed less biased however, his involvement with his supplier is obvious. He was a fan of the Meopta zd but strangely it didn't make his top scope roundup . Odd , Meopta aren't supplied by O/W , his favourite supplier. Don't get me wrong, I was a big fan of his videos , I'm no longer convinced he's in partial.
@gobangs1117
@gobangs1117 4 жыл бұрын
I'm not in a position to comment on his objectivity all that I can say is that the Delta I purchased was due in part if not totally to his review and everything he said about it is true. I can usually tell when someone is just out and out biased but he presents his reviews and comparisons in an apparently level and cogent manner. Mark said he got the Forge "from the guys at NIOA" does that mean that Mark is in NIOAs pocket and is a shill? Both parties are obviously recipients of favours from suppliers which unless you are a millionaire is pretty hard to shy away from. Obviously once that line has been crossed your objectivity will come into question. I have never met either men but like them both from watching their videos. Whatever their involvement is with suppliers is their business just as long as they don't bullshit.

@@gobangs1117 I'm not dissing Mark and Sam as I believe it's their purchase. There's a difference between a purchase and supply for review. I just find it strange that all R Uttings favourite scopes come from the same supplier .May be wrong .
@gobangs1117
@gobangs1117 4 жыл бұрын
I didn't think that you were dissing them, however you are casting aspersions about Richard. Optics Warehouse sell a shitload of different brands so I don't quite see the point of your criticism. What brand that they don't supply do you honestly believe should have been in his favourites list? You know what, I honestly don't give a shit whether you think he is a shill or not! Really! But having been at the raw end of some nasty youtube shit I am always bothered by people who cast baseless aspersions about other creators. Typically the slingers have never made much less uploaded a video on the platform! I realise that I am probably overreacting and that you mean no harm. As far as shills there are U.S. channels that I view that are borderline subliminal advertisers and one Ozzie channel that I will refrain from mentioning that is one of the worst! Sorry about the rant but I like Richard and appreciate the time he takes to produce informative and honest reviews. Yeah O.W. sell the shit and he tells you so, so what, I did not buy my Delta from them because most intelligent people have the brains to shop around!. If I seem aggressive it is not intentional.
