Finally, a visual on how the seat turns into a bed. Thanks! I like the concept. I recently flew on AAs A321T (F) and it was so uncomfortable. The footrest jutted up so it didn’t create a full flat surface. Plus, it feels like a coffin (same can be said for JL’s SkySuite 3). Looking forward to flying this seat.

I flew the A330-300 business class yesterday from JFK-HEL. I absolutely loved it. Tons of privacy and the service was fantastic..

Hi Tom. Great to see another review of this new business class, this time in flight. I really like it - unique; AY have been bold enough to release their own product which distinctly fits their Scandinavian/Nordic identity and haven't just fitted clones of other business class seats. A huge improvement over the old A330 seats, not least because they all have aisle access, so no more striding over strangers on longhaul flights! Great to see sufficient storage, even for laptops. Doors are over-rated, especially if you can see over the top anyway. Is the table big & sturdy enough to work on? Your honest and impartial reviews are the best. Thanks again!

Table is sturdy - I actually commented on that but it didn't make the cut. Gone (hopefully) are the days of having to wedge a blanket between the armrest and one end of the table so you can eat and / or work!

I flew it a few times between Singapore and Helsinki a few times now and this seat is amazing - very comfy, spacious and private. The only better C-seat I’ve come across (and I’ve come across quite a few) is Qatar‘s Q-Suite.

Just booked AMS-HEL-HKG, BKK-HEL with AY and hoping that the 359s for those sectors ( especially the LH ones) are in the new cabin. I'm really intrigued to see what the new hard product is like on some good long sectors

Me too - it will debut on Singapore for the long haul. I hope you get it too but it will be almost 2 years before all the long haul fleet have it so it's a bit of a gamble at the moment as to whether you do....

I did mean to include that those are being taken end of Oct & return legs mid Nov ( '22) so yes hopefully by then they will have a few more added to the fleet to increase the numbers. It won't be the end of the world if not but certainly looking forward to giving the 'sky couch' a good testing.

I'm flying AMS-HEL-LHR next month and it's showing as an A350 AMS-HEL and an A330 HEL-LHR. Let's hope they stick!

@@LondonAndy70 Yes same for all of mine. As Business Traveller said there are, currently, only 2 350s and 2 330s with the cabin so having a 50 doesn't guarantee you'll get the new cabin but it's a glimmer of hope. I know that they are using them LHR-HEL-HEL as a 'work up' route for crew familiarisation so that leg at least should have a decent chance for you. It's always exciting to try out a new cabin for the 1st time so i'll keep my fingers crossed for you. There retrofit schedule is pretty impressive so for us, flying in Nov' i'm hoping the chances will have risen somewhat by then and with SIN being their 1st LH route and their stated preference to deploy them 1st on their Premium Eastbound LH routes HKG stands a good chance of being one they'll use it on as Hong Kong is considered to be a Premium route year round as Singapore is

Just count the number of business class seats. Then you will know, if u travel in new or old cabin.

If you going to review a seat at least supply the width as it's a major factor for those of us whom are heavy set and disabled. Showing the service would have made this vlog alot more interesting

First of all, I like to say that I really enjoyed your review of the New Finnair Business Class Seat. The only thing that I am concerned about is the Seatbelt situation. Is there an extra Seatbelt for when you use the seat as a bed, or does the Seatbelt somehow adjust for Sleepmode?

Yes, there is a completely different seatbelt for when you are sleeping

How come there is a long haul and short haul only? I would say 3 hours is a medium-haul. I don't know if there is a real definition but 3 hours isn't a short flight to me.

Hello, I suppose it depends on your viewpoint, but Ryanair / Easyjet would certainly regard themselves as short haul and many of the flights round Europe are at the 3-hour mark. In the UK mid-haul would be destinations like the Middle East. Tom
