That's wild! The way the wind changes the salt texture and how it melts is something most people would never notice. He clearly has a deep love for his work, the salt pool's, and nature. I hope to be able to try his snow salt one day. Being able to visit and help create the salt would also be so wonderful.

I really really like the Fluer De Sel. I like the large crystals, the moisture content and the perfect crunch. It's my favorite salt. You can order some from "The Meadow" for about 10 dollars or more if you want more. I have a membership with them and they send me different salts from around the world each month. Amazing. I was surprised at how many different types of salt there are

Chef here… the difference with fleur de sel is so subtle that it’s not worth the high cost over regular sea salt unless you want to proclaim you use expensive ingredients in your dish.

FYI the quality of the Fleur de Sel matters. I heard the best quality Fleur de Sel actually comes from Guerande France.

I bought that salt just to know what all the fuss is about. It tastes like any salt, its just more coarse and therefore a little harder to portion right.

I love it, it's richer in flavour.

It's expensive because it's French, with High added value. The salt-making process is just the same as the rest of the world.

@@4th_and_Long does it taste like truffles or salt?

@@giovannyocampo6582 I've never had truffles but I've had that salt. It has a better texture, taste, and overall a better experience. Reverse sear a Wagyu filet to medium rare and top with this salt for your wife and tell her you got that steak from Japan and the salt from France. I bet you $100 you get rewarded

It is not just any salt. It is only made in certain regions in the world. It is basically the Beyonce of salt.

Because it has the right image and idiots are willing to pay a lot of money for salt.
