Where do you park a 40-foot school bus in Santa Cruz, California? It's illegal to sleep in your vehicle here! Since "stealth camping" is not an option in a bright green rolling billboard, we parked for a week at Seacliff State Beach, with a front windshield view of the surf! It was $55/night without hookups, yet priceless since we got to spend all 7 days with dad!

About Us:
Hi! We're Mike & Kerry, the proud owners of a 1992 Bluebird rear engine (pusher), 40' school bus! We named her Bussy McBusface in honor of the RRS Boaty McBoatface travesty!
We built a Tiny-Home-in-a-Bus for full-time living in the most adventure-friendly way possible. Bussy was never meant to be parked in a driveway, waiting for weekend trips or holiday getaways. After we finished the build, we packed everything we kept into the bus and drove away from our old house and into the world of off-grid living, aka boondocking, and endless travel adventures!
Since we planned to be boondocking the majority of the time, we made choices such as; a 100-gallon water tank, an Air Head composting toilet, a 1500w solar power system with 1000Ah in AGM batteries, etc. We'd love to have you stick around and follow us on our journey, from our Skoolie Build Series, to infinite buslife adventures beyond!
Mike & Kerry

There's nothing like going home and enjoying our parents, and remember the old times when we were kids. You should go back as often as you can while you still have reason to. And what is it about french fries that are done to perfection that makes you sit up and take notice. Almost makes your whole day. LOL

There’s a channel called BRUPEG, a kiwi couple refitting a steel trawler in Australia, anyway, they’ve been using this music for years, it’s really weird to hear it here too.

That is very good question! We didn't film when he first came in. He was very impressed and he routinely says how impressed he is with what we have done with this bus so, I think he's very happy with it. He has been extremely supportive of our choice to pursue this lifestyle as well.

Seacliff as a boy, we fished on the "cement boat", able to go all the way out, until the fenced off bow zone. THOUSANDS of baby fishes below the fish cleaning station. The SnowWhite DriveInn! Legendary! Dad like to stop at the nearby Cookbook restaurant on the way out/home for soup in a sourdough round. I think it was clam chowder. Sitting, waiting for the food.....you were relaxing from the driving. That's what the air, and atmosphere, of the Monterey bay can do for just about anyone. Strolling, or bicycling, along the cliffs around Santa Cruz are a refreshing break from metropolis. Although when it's cold, ears covered, hat, gloves, and a hot drink are highly recommended. "Covid factor" increased the Santa Cruz area home prices. Beacause so many folks from San Francisco bay area learned to "work from home". So they bailed out of the "commute" and relocated to their dreamscape Santa Cruz. And retiring boomers sold their Santa Clara Valley homes for millions (originally paid $250k), and are/have "bailed out" to their nostalgic weekend oasis. You didn't stop at The Staff of Life grocery? The forerunner to Whole Foods! Did you visit the Crows Nest? Ah, maybe on another episode.

We did not go to the staff of life. Honestly I can't stand the smell of patchouli oil!!!😂😂😂 We did however have a wonderful dinner at the Crow's nest like we do every time we visit my father in Santa Cruz..
