That's nothing. In February a bogus cop claim to got me going 116 in a 70. Instant reckless driving ticket. Also got me for an expired tag I was taking care of next week. I was on my way to work which was 5 minutes down the freeway, I had no reason to go that fast, nor do I think I ever could, but I didn't have any proof against him otherwise. It was either plead guilty and hope for a light sentence, or contest it and risk them bringing harder evidence when I didn't have anything. Got off with just a fine and points on my record, but to this day I'm still paying on that fine. $435 for reckless driving, plus $245 for court cost. I got the expired tag taken off so the judge excused that fine but still have to pay another $245 for that tickets court cost. $925 plus 6 points on my license just cuz I wasn't paying attention to my speed and couldnt argue my case

Lol, I got pulled over for doing 50 in a 40. I was straight-up & honest with the officer that I was speeding and there's no excuse. He let me off with a warning and just wanted to check my number plate (I used to have one that was legal, but ANPR cameras can't understand). After it all checked out and he was letting me on my way, I grabbed the box of Krispy Kreme's I had just bought out the car and cheekily offered him one. He laughed and told me to go before he changed his mind about the speeding ticket =p It's gotta be done!

That's why they go check the computer, to see if you've been in trouble before for anything, but also for the matters at hand. He would have seen that he'd had two+ warnings before, time for a ticket. If he had no warning on his record he'd most likely get a warning, they have discretion to use depending on your attitude/record, and the officers personality too.

hate to say it but i told you years ago to get a radar detector. spring hill is probably the easiest city to detect and avoid radar cops. $225 is nothing but it could have gone towards a good detector and yes they do work if you use them correctly. it's not too late to buy one. stay safe on the roads!

However, the "pat on the back" could be construed as assault or a threat since he gave no warning and asked for no permission a d wasn't attempting to arrest you.
