A Brief history for everyone. Wesley Village was built in 1955, for victims of "Shek Kip Mei fire" *(石硤尾大火) The village had a church, school, and over 94 families. Villagers moved away in 60s-70s because of "new towns" was built everywhere in Hong Kong. This site was used for day-camp in 1975 and closed down around 1988. And the village fully demolished in 1990, then this site is passed on to "Hong Kong Lands Department" till nowadays. Some parliamentary tried to promote efficient use of the land, but (HKLD) reject their idea. --A place full of history just sit here overgrown, and the government does nothing about it. *Thank you for your time and please excuse me for any English mistake*

+Yin . Interesting, but if the site was fully demolished, what was the building they visited ? I found some sites that said the Wesley Village was built for refugees fleeing the civil war in China in the 1950s. gwulo.com/node/5076#16/22.2723/114.1931/Map_by_ESRI-Markers/100 . That building doesn't look like a place for families though, it seems more like a hostel for travelers or perhaps students. I have no real evidence though.

That was no security guard that place has been abandoned for many years and no one would pay to have it guarded as there was nothing of value there.

Xcaliber Trekker This site belongs to "Hong Kong Lands Department" In Hong Kong, some abandoned place have guard or even guards with dog. It depends on the owner or gov department. Paying for a place full of nothing. This is how ridiculous it is.
