When I went to film school here I thought it was funny how most film students shot around campus so you'd see the same locations in lots of student films. It was fun thinking about how everyone was using the same settings for their different cinematic purposes. Little did I know that originators of cinematic grammar were doing the same thing in those same locations at the dawn of modern cinema. Thank you for showing me how all filmmakers have been doing the same work (in the same space even!) since the beginning. I can't thank you enough for these videos.

I took a cinema class when I was at USC and I don't ever recall ever touring old film sites. I know that USC has been used as a filming location through the years. In fact, when I was there, the TV show Paper Chase was being filmed there. We used to see John Houseman on campus sometimes.

Is the dental school building used in "cops" been replaced by the USC credit union building?

Hi Jessie. The Cops building was on Exposition Blvd. The site is now the back yard to the law school. The credit union is on Flower St.
