THANK YOUUUU this tutorial is amazing!! i’m an F/G cup with broad shoulders so the XL was definitely not big enough for my so i used your table to create my cup. i ended up having 53 rows and it took me so long to finish both cups 😂 im starting the main body now and hopefully i can get it done this week since im in quarantine.. thank you so much for this tutorial!! i’ll defs be posting mine on my insta ❤❤

I'm at 14:23 now and this is the first time I've even attempted making something wearable, and you have absolutely no idea how proud and thrilled I am that it *actually* looks the way it's supposed to so far (give or take a few little loose stitches). The most I've made before was a few amigurumi, and I suffer from fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, autism *and* carpal tunnel syndrome, (I know, a whole shopping list!) so it's taken me two days to get this far, but with only a couple of hours of actual stitching time, and the fact I didn't have to undo my work once is a miracle. I *always* have to redo things because I forget where I was or can't recognise stitches. I can't thank you enough for this! I do have one question, at this point, though: you say if we're an XL to add 4 extra rows. I've had to calculate to a 3XL because I'm plus sized and rather top-heavy, so I'm wondering if I need to stick with the 4 rows or if I should add 6/8? If so, do I keep decreasing every other row or do I do all regular rows?

I have also been waiting for this pattern :) I have made 1 cup in the XL size but it’s only 7.5 inches across. Your estimates in the beginning indicate it should be around 9.5”. I am relatively experienced, using the correct size yarn and hook, and don’t think I have particularly tight tension. Curious if anyone else experienced this gauge issue. I will probably just add a few more rows and increase up to 21sc before decreasing…

@@BJax I'll try it out tomorrow and let you know. It's not that many to undo, so I'm glad to catch it at this point! I suppose it *could* be the yarn, I think I read a review saying it works up a bit lighter than others this weight (lion brand pound of love) but it is a 4 so it shouldn't be that different...

@@BJax update: I increased to 21sc and then proceeded as the pattern indicated (i.e., 5 total rows of the longest row before decreasing). This got this first diamond-shaped piece to measure just over 9" (and I assume the other 0.5" will come from finishing the cup and/or the yarn's stretch).

​@@BJax A final update...I have basically finished the top (just a little of the surface crochet left to do) and at this point I'm sure there has to be a difference in our gauges and/or yarn 🙃In addition to the changes I mentioned, I added a few rows to the top of the cups, pretty much doubled the length of the underarm straps, and did 20 instead of 18 to start the front panels. Despite all of that, this is definitely more of a bra/bralette than crop top on me! The cups fit great and I'm glad to have learned this method for them. But at some point I may redo this with more added everywhere for coverage and stronger straps!

I had the same issue I was making a size large and it was only 6" with a 4mm and using #4 weight cotton yarn I changed to a 4.5mm and still it's only 6 1/2" but I'm going to say size large is a small XL is a med then add more rows for L and XL and see how they turn out I guess how did your end up working out?

Just finished making this! I love the design but the sizing ended up a total fail and not looking good on me. I worked up a small cup before deciding to switch to a medium. Only wish I had thought to check the comments earlier because my cups were both wayyy smaller than the measurements in the video. I’m going to try again with a larger hook and a closer eye on the measurements. I need to be able to wear this!! 🖤

The fact even the XL cup is too small for me 😅 I decided to count up another 2 rows, reaching 19 stitches and added another 2 rows at the top of the cup. D cups girlys need an xxl 😅

A little update. I decided to unravel my first attempt as the measurements were still too tiny, I don't really know what I did that much differently, but I think it's the difference in yarn that effected the cups. I did a total of 21 rows for the cup oval. After that, I left my stitchmarker for the armpit side at 20 stitches, on the belly side at 18 stitches. I also worked on the armpit/back "flaps" if you will a little further as I am a little bigger set, so I just continued those rows until I felt comfortable, and lastly I started my decrease (the triangle shape) past the cup as well, which was around 40 stitches, which also makes it a bit longer, but I really need the coverage. It's a great tutorial to also take in and alter where you need to, as it is perfectly explained which part is made next

I was wondering the same thing. I just approached this part and I’m making a large. I am adding at least four more rows to reach around my body more. Since there’s a corset in the front and the back, both halves of this project don’t need to meet, it’s actually better that they don’t, but I do think larger sizes need more coverage than 13 rows. The creator did mention that there needs to be 18 stitches in the front body portion to create the v in the front no matter the size, so increasing the number of rows for the armpit part should be inconsequential to the front v part. I will comment again once I’m further along or even complete with the project to let you know how many more rows I added and how it worked out. For BJax - this is an awesome video and I’m loving this pattern so far, I think it would be helpful to show the back of the piece and for us larger bodied folks I do think adding more rows to the armpit part is necessary for us. I appreciate the time it took for you to film this for us and It’s worked out great for me so far, but I definitely think I need to modify that part by adding more rows to fit my body more.

And just have the front be the way to tie it together.

Yes! Only because if you make it wider than 18 stitches it will take longer to decrease every row and it basically wouldn’t be a crop top anymore

I need help Im not sure what happened I used a size G 4mm Prym hook, I love this cotton #4 weight yarn, and followed the directions for size L but the measurement for the cup is only 6" wide I'm so confused... PLEASE HELP!!! 🙏😩

Omg I’m not sure what to say other than your tension may be too tight 😭 or it could be that the Lily Sugar n Cream yarn I’m using is a worsted weight and is a bit stiff

@@BJax I do crochet pretty tight because I don't want big holes in it I did switch to a 4.5 mm hook and it came out better but still only 6 1/2" making a large so I might just have to adjust the pattern based off my tension and make a large pattern into a small a XL to a medium and then add more rows for L and XL that's the best I can think of lol 🤣
