Hi! I love the way you present information. It's so easy to digest. I would love to learn more about what kinds of supports a "low care needs" autistic adult might be able to use or need to plug into. Do you have any content related to that?

Great question. I don’t think I’ve covered that yet but it’s a great topic to do a video on asap.

I don't Think there is a Spectrum of Autism. I Simply Think every Autistic Person is Different from each other.

I kinda feel the high-functioning and low-functioning labels live on in the new DSM-5 criteria. There's level 1 low needs, level 2 medium needs, level 3 high needs boxes under the ASD label, but what they really mean is what level of autism/monotropism potentially coupled with intellectual disability does the person have. No matter the level of autism you have, you can either require support or not, and the type of support might just change. Like lvl 1 high-masking autists are subjected to a high level of pressure to conform, are more likely gaslit about their symptoms and so ignore their own needs, are therefore often diagnosed very late in life, and often experience comorbid issues, like depression, anxiety, stress, CPTSD, burnout... and their autistic symptoms could worsen because of it and so would need more support. Or one's support needs just differ from day to day. In the end, I just don't think they should equate level of autism with level of support. In the ICD-11, they seem to focus on level of autism paired with intellectual disability, which makes more sense to me as the two seem to go together.

Some do, some do not. Blanket statements separate individuals. We all have our own challenges and differences.
