My parents are teachers who teach languages to secondary school students, my brother wants to either be a doctor or an architect and I’m a creative media student applying to go study tv at university even tho there’s online school going on. My mum is British and my dad is Romani (Sinti + Balkan Rom) & Jewish, I’m mixed Romani ^_^ ! Loved the horsey joke that made me chuckle 🤭🤣💜✨🤧 !! T’aves Baxtahlo e Kushti Divvus/ Latscho Diewes/ Lacho Dives !! ✨✨✨~.

I'm an American musician. My dad was Romanichal and Sicilian. French on my mom's side. My dad totally did blacktopping with his father, I never realized how associated it was with Romani. He also did the top/bottom separation with his clothes washing also. Little weird cultural things I just took for granted, including some of the language (which I unfortunately did not get to learn but for a few words and phrases).

Wonderful. More of this. No connection to Romani folk nor even Scottish Traivellers but want to learn more than the prejudice, and the terrible big frocks for wedding rubbish. And it is so hard to find info that however it is apparently packaged reflects inherent racism, or the sensationalist stuff. Would love more on the music and the ballads. Life style and traditions.

@anthonyballog80262 жыл бұрын
The word lollipop in Gypsy came from lolli puba which means red apple. Gypsies use to sell red apples on street corners (put them on sticks). This is modern day lollipops. Interesting fact about our culture.

Hello! Romanian here, none of you are gypsies go take a dna test
@khalil72612 жыл бұрын
Hello! Brit here, the systematic and social racism against us Roma that takes place in your country has led more Romani people to be isolated in their own communities, which means they, in turn, have darker skin as they are more likely to have children with other Romani people. Us Roma were originally from Northern India, particularly Punjab and Rajasthan, and we can carry varying amounts of South Asian DNA in us. I have "ambiguous" and "mixed-looking" skin, but some of my family members have lighter skin, and some have even darker than mine. Our ethnic group is more likely to have lighter skin in Northwest Europe, e.g. the UK, Finland, etc, as the residents are more tolerable (but still very racist) towards us. He could easily fit in in some families in the site I originally came from, and personally I don't think it's your place (Assuming you're a gorgie), as someone who's ancestors most likely enslaved my people for centuries, to tell someone that they aren't Romani. Good day.

Mate you half Romani/gypsy possibly therefore you are the other part of gipsies. Gypsies don't like to have their brides or men to marry from another culture.
