Busting the Myth that All Licensed GBA Games Suck!

I always love seeing licensed games that were nowhere near as bad as the stigma that surrounds the idea. So many picks here I was like “yup, absolutely!” (especially THPS2). Nicktoons Racing surprised me to see on here, and now has me very interested to check out! Fantastic 4 Flame On I recently checked out after one of your VGM videos, and holy crap is it fun! Awesome video as always man!

Wow, I had no idea there was a Baldur's Gate game on the GBA. It looks really fun, too. I love these kind of games that are not only accessible, but have a good gameplay loop, too. Thanks for highlighting yet another game I need to add to my collection!

Nice video. Added a few to the wish list. Can't believe that I hadn't already added FF Flame On to the list. Just a quick FYI the Baldur's Gate console games are nothing like the PC games and it looks to me like the GBA game you played is done by the same people who did the console games. Some of my favorite gaming memories is playing Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance and the X-Men Legends games with my bro. Haven't gamed with him in a while. Need to fix that.

The GBA just killed it for what all wanted in a handheld. It played games on par with we expected and the quality of play with the controls, battery life and eventually the backlight of the SP made my long days in deployments much easier back then. Such a great vast library and games like these showcase that completely.

Konami put out some decent TMNT games for the GBA. I also recommend Butt Ugly Martians witch was based off a 2001 cartoon series I've never seen, 007 Nightfire is surprisingly impressive FPS, An American Tail, Godzilla Domination a Monster Brawler made by WayForward, and Tron 2.0 That has a mix of top down and 3d gameplay. Just a few I personally have along with most the titles you mentioned. I could probably come up with another dozen tho.

I didn't realize there were that many other anime inspired games on the game boy advance like the Astro boy game or the kinnikuman game. Another good one is YuYu Hakusho tournament tactics

Great to see Ultimate Muscle on the list. The games that we got for UM were a lot of fun. Some great games on this list.

Sir you may enjoy Medabots on the GBA. It's an old 90s anime from the pokemon era that they turned into a pretty solid pokemon clone. There are a few different medabots games but I believe the one I'm remembering is just called Medabots.

Truthfully, I think it's just a few licensed games here and there that spoiled things for the rest and had people bad-mouthing all licensed games. I'd wager that there's far more unlicensed games that were crap both by volume and percentage.

The GBA is on my to-get list, I do have a couple of games for the system, but I use my GB player because my old eyes don't do well with little screens 😂

Of all the well design e games on this list I definitely have to play Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's chest. Given that it's reminiscent of Castlevania and also he looks like a drunken Jack Sparrow when standing still is absolutely hilarious 😂 I don't have favorite games on the GBA because I haven't really played many games on the GBA 😂
