Why are you not a more recognisable FM youtuber? Much better than Benji

HAHA! Love the video. I'm **Still** playing FM2017 and havent upgraded. I play LLs and was at the top of the Vanarama National North league with Worcester. 5 points in the gap. Then came a game losing streak with a draw or two mixed in. Sunk down to 6th place, no playoffs. UGHHHH

Sir you are so fantastic!!!! I just want to state on a personal level how greatful I am for your content. In this perticular video I was looking to really get deep into the Football Manager Match Engine differences between Structured and Fluidity and I had the two concepts completely mixed at polar oppersits. I am a coach at u14's and u7's Grass Route Sunday Leagues and really try with the boys to get them to play a team based, showing for that ball penertrating possession game with pretty triangles. However on FM I was finding that I could acheive this type of play rarely and seemed almost by accident as I constantly press franticly at the shout buttons (nope that doesnt work, next, no cancel that, nope, role changes, nope tactic change, nope, restart again and again and again) I even put FM down for months then i thought, I've got some time off lets really get into the real depths and learn. now i've watched alot of your content to try to pick up how on earth you consistantly make teams play to their strengths and limit the weaknesses. The three things in this video Retain Possession, Roam from Position and Work the ball into the box were honestly the last things I was looking to secure the 1-0 leads ect. so based on watching these and trying the new possession based approach with these shout man I've got to take my hat off to you, it really feels like i've just found the holy grail. everything else was good apart from understanding those shouts and by the way fluid vs structured the amount of times i would go structured thinking it would bring my team together, it makes me think SI purposely confuse people. As i said i'm not working currently but as soon as i'm back you will be recieving a generous patreon donation A) because I want your FM Book B) the value of the game in my new opinion is like buying a whole new game itself! you are by far the best FM youtuber out their and I've watched alot. Thank you for taking the time to share your content you are a true gent god bless you x

great advices, thank you. My problem lies in what i lack in ideas in my tactics. For example, 4-1-2-2-1 or 4-1-2-3 DM. I know only 2 things how can i play it: counter attack based on my wingers speed, and "control/attack" with 2 IF and false 9. If something goes wrong - i realy dont know what to do.

Since you offered a 5th video for Q&A heres some symptom in my game.. 1/ Strikers passing to opposition's GK.. high shots on target/0 CCC 2/ Kindergarten defending.. 2 CBs and 1 CMd gathered around opp #10 in the golden area.. which allow a simple pass to opp winger for easy tapin.. and the FB right next to that winger is ball watching. all roles on default instructions. 3/ Losing 2nd balls.

Those aren't symptoms of your game, frankly, if that's happening you need to see why your transitions aren't working. Its almost always a combination of mentality roles and duties. Most times people just don't pick the right players for the job or don't notice things till its too late. If the AI can do that to you you can do that to the AI. How you defend is based on how you lock down the chances the AI gets to do those things.

Great tips in there thanks! I am still playing an FM17 save (even though FM20 is out) because I like the continuity. I took Poole Town to three successive play off finals but lost them all and resigned in frustration. Hired by Albion Rovers in Scottish L2, two promotions in 3 seasons isn't bad. I dearly want the Grimsby job (my team!) but they have refused to hire me all three times they have sacked their manager. They finished 17th in the Vanarama with their genius new manager (Ross Embleton) while I am now well above that level in the Scottish Championship. But what I REALLY wanted to ask was, WHY do I get SO MANY games where we've totally dominated in every aspect of the match, had 15 shots on target to our opponents' 2, . . . . . . . and lost 2-0 . . . . ?

Awesome videos as always I want to ask would you say with a team with low determination and workrate it's better to have a structure shape? I have this attitude that to play fluid you need to have a team with good mental attributes. What's your take Rashidi.
@BusttheNet7 жыл бұрын
I would usually choose players good determination and work rate. if they were low I would go with flexible.

In preseason, I try to see if the tactic works, but often, results are bad. I struggle to beat lower league opposition. But in changing stuff, I'm restricted by the ability of the player. And even though I've tried changing things, things do not improve.

yup. set pieces don't work. i'm winning 77% of the games but set pieces are the real problem for me.
@BusttheNet6 жыл бұрын
I will need to do another set piece video, come short and assist corner taker doesnt work
@thephotographer5395 жыл бұрын
I've got a great one for attacking corners where you stick your long shot specialist (set to 'shoot more often') to lurk outside area and set the taker to 'penalty spot'

You can go to the steamworkshop and view them there. I reckon you will need to download them. I did a show a while ago where I showed people my custom views.

I win all my pre season matches by big goals and get destroyed in the actual league :|

Thats a symptom I have....I have 3 periods every season where my team forget how to play football....the beginning, January and the last 6 or 7 games. The last 6 or 7 games usually appear after a few seasons...this final period of strife is not present in the first couple of seasons, it appears laterl. I have spent 3 years and have finally worked out how to stop all 3 periods happening. All three have a different solution. Now when I see the clues I make a simple change and back on track

Play better teams during pre season. If you're able to win well then it's not your tactic

I LOVE pre season! Seeing how your new signings are gelling etc, trying out new tactics. I'm in one now, and have just come up with the idea of playing a friendly every 3 days vs my own Under 20 side and no one else. Of course you fill that U20 side with your second string players and play the first team against them. In this way, you get double the match fitness benefits. In Scottish lower leagues you often have games on Saturday only, so I schedule the same friendlies vs my U20s in midweek to keep my second string lads match fit.
