I have to say though these videos are super informative. I do find it strange that so much knowledge seems basic but just isn't mentioned anywhere, for instance I never use the "Roam from position" shout because, as you said, I thought it would make all my players just do their own thing positionwise, so I figured that it was a shout only to be used by world class sides when you have quality players in every position.

Roam is an underused shout by a lot of people in the game.

A video on how to create overloads or drag opposition players around would be really useful. As I understand these are the 2 keys to breaking down defensive sides
@BusttheNet
@BusttheNet 7 жыл бұрын
Most of my saves feature me overloading and dragging teams out of positions. IN Torino whenever I use an IWB I am trying to overload and if I use a playmaker on the flanks its also another attempt to overload

What to do if a very important player has low Determination/Work Rate, but excels in other areas?
@13ahaa
@13ahaa 7 жыл бұрын
It is important what kind of system you want to achieve with your team. low determination means he will not work hard when your'e team is losing 0-1 or 0-2.
@13ahaa
@13ahaa 7 жыл бұрын
In my opinion determination is one of the most important attribute in fm
@BusttheNet
@BusttheNet 7 жыл бұрын
Like baha says its easily an important attribute, but it still needs to work within a system. There are times when you can have players without those attributes work in your side, but when things go wrong you need to pay attention to them a lot. You can't expect them to be coming back to defend a lot. There are some very good players in the game with low work rate as well, its a question of recognising this when creating a system. I suggest determination and work rate because it makes it easier to rule out a lack of desire.

Might be a bit late but a good example of mine was signing Balotelli ( i think he's the perfect example of awesome at everything absolutely atrocious at workrate/determination) I basically put him in an Island upfront, attack duty lone striker (i guess poacher) Basically he was so much better than the others that i made the whole team play for him and work extra hard to cover for him doing nothing until he has the ball. i had fast transmision so that the ball gets to him quickly, and then i had no player instructions on him so that he works his magic. Very structured (i knew balotelli wouldn't give two shit about my instructions anyway) basically everybody else was at his service, and he scored 32 goals that season (with Marseille)

Well, I follow your work and I can really say that one is the only one who understands FM, I've seen in different forums, how people win without having any knowledge of FM..I do not know if it's a hacking .. what is I was always interested, is your way of playing .. the dummy games..Fm is a very difficult and complex game, it requires knowledge .. it looks like me and my management .. you are as in this video ..4 Match Won 4: 1.4: 2 .. I'm the best and then I'm going to defeat..the other third .. I found that it was an alarming condition and I looked at what I'm not feeling..1) shot team back to the beginning without any instructions 2) I'm trying to conclude that new players can not enter the system and you hate a series of victories .. 3) you mention the mentality .. try me that time

Dlf striker ok but u need an attack duty in ur middle to link no ? No advanced midlefielder and an other strikers in defend duty which means dat he wont move a lot... maybe an issue here ?

i've found a great regen right back with all round good stats (13+ for basically everything). but.. he's got low self belief, i thought it wouldn't be an issue as i could tutor him but i've signed 3 players that should theoretically be suitable and not one can tutor him. shall i just try and get rid of him asap and look elsewhere? he's worth about £25m, just wondering whether his personality will change over time automatically?

Okok i understand all u said... but with too many support on ur team u wont be able to Attack Well ?? You have a good block team but is dat enough to create space and to score ?
@BusttheNet
@BusttheNet 6 жыл бұрын
You need to think about what the roles and duties are doing in terms of space. Control and Attack Space. Can a tactic play well without any attack duties. It can, but it depends on how you have thought things through. In some tactics i specifically have a lot of support duties and only 1 attack duty, because i only want him to be the attacking the space. In other tactics i don't even play with strikers, and have 5 attack duties because i want to attack spaces differently.
@abandex
@abandex 6 жыл бұрын
thank u a lot for answering. in term of space i understand what u intend to do this tactics....on the left side the DLP go deep and allow the WB to bomb forward the CM (s) stay in this position, control the middlefield, on the left the RPM will play in the space between midfield and attack and allow the other Wb to bomb forward. ok. The left forward will come deep and now that's the point. why not choosing and attack duty for mane ? ( sorry maybe it's a stupid question again.... ) because if ur WB on the two side can make cross but if there is nobody on the box to make run off the ball runs.... ? ( maybe with a very fluid in control mane has enough mentality to make run, or maybe an attack duty on him will create too much offside ) ?

There is a gremlin in the game though, too often have I seen my so-called "world class" goalkeeper just drop the ball at his feet and that's it, he just stands there while the opposing teams striker just sprints towards the ball and scores. I highly doubt there's an attribute that's the cause of that.

Bardock426 jeah but look at bravo, at the beginning of last season he was regarded a class goalkeeper. and now he is regarded dog shit. Such things happen in real life too.

You have to take into account the match engine and if you're playing in 2D Those thing might look stupid in the game but it can represent so many things like a keeper falling while stopping the ball (on his arse and needing time to recover stand and go get the ball, wich is enough time for a good poacher)

I've been watching your videos for a while now and I have found them helpful in the past, unfortunately after my most recent blip I watched this video and you inspired me to tinker more with the shouts to try and turn around some games which has led to some very poor results. I'm playing a system similar to Sandokan's 532, though mine is a 5221 with a shadow striker, AMc and Poacher/False Nine. I use quick passing, work ball into box, pass shorter and much narrower. I'm predicted around 7th and I was top for over half the season but after around the 27th game it's gone pear shaped I'm not sure this is to do with teams playing more defensively as most still line up with 4231 and 442 with many support duties and a few atk duties. I do see some teams playing with like 8 support duties though and I barely get any highlights if I play on extended in those games, my guess is that the opposition is looking to win the possession battle and just keep hold of it. I've now tried to counter this by dropping my mentality from control to something less and reducing tempo to win more possession but now I'm less of an attacking threat. If I try to control possession I guess I can't pass the ball into space which I like to do if I choose a lower mentality so I've been changing my poacher to a false nine which seems like a logical call but I'm just not seeing enough reward that I'm making the correct decisions in game. When I come across a team who park the bus with a 4141 I feel that the correct team instructions for my situation would be higher tempo, wide width, hit early crosses, whipped crosses, maybe a lower defensive line if they line up with a poacher and to help draw them out, fluid to unsettle their defensive structure, maybe roam from positions. I'm not sure about mentality in this situation though generally I thought standard and control worked well against defensive teams but if I go control they could end up limiting my attack by holding onto possession. All these decisions need to be made and it's very hard to see which one is correct even with all of your guides I don't know if each decision I make is a good one or a bad one I've been looking at heat maps where I see I have controlled the 'golden zone' but I could still lose and there is no indication that I can see that I've been unlucky to lose or that I've controlled but not had the penetration but why?! There just isn't enough reward for doing the right things in this game imo. I could play the game on a whim making half minded decisions here and there and still perform better than by taking my time and analyzing which is so frustrating because I like your approach so much more. I'm sorry for what turned out to be a rant I was actually looking for answers, I so want to be really good at this game and I'll continue to look forward to your new videos in the hope I can learn more. Hopefully you could offer some input for my situation but I know it's a big ask as you're so busy with all your patreons and all that you do. I'd like to say thanks for all that you've done also. One more thing I've considered becoming a patreon and paying you for help but unfortunately I'm just so overwhelmed by so many aspects of the game that I don't feel I'd feel benefit from your book as it's so in-depth if the was a short concise guide it would appeal so much more but I don't think this game with ever be mastered in such a manner. I like the simplistic approach to skipping all the bloatware of press conferences and team talks I'd always be in favour of this however I think that this sort of thing is easier to master than the tactics side and after my recent results I kind of think it gives the amatuers a small edge in game. I find it easier to obtain a good result if my morale is high regardless of my tactics than when my morale is low and I pay more attention to my tactics.
@BusttheNet
@BusttheNet 7 жыл бұрын
You don't need to be a patreon for me to help. :-) Here we need to look at your system, which plays defensively out of the gate. When teams start playing defensively against you, issues will emerge, because by the time you get your transitions going, they are already camped. Here you want to think of ways to either defend and turn things around quickly, or you want to camp. Both ways demand that your mentality goes up. So I would start thinking of ways I can get out of the gate quickly, either at the start of games or choosing times to do it. Say for example a few of their players pick yellow cards. You could opt to raise your mentality and then take the game to the them. When it comes to mentality, just think of it like this: If you play on lower mentalities it takes time for your ball to move up, your passes are more measured. IF you play on higher mentalities then your transitions are faster, players get up quickly. If you increase shape more players get involved in this. I always tell those that I help that they need to stop playing their main save and go pick a team like Juventus on FMT, take the tactic they have and play it on Defensive/structured and then change it to Attacking structured, then in another match start on defensive fluid and change to attacking fluid. Each for 45 mins, and then compare how they felt, and compare the differences between the two options. When people struggle I usually tell them to stop with the main save, and instead of trying new stuff on their "loved" teams go pick a top team you have no feelings for, and do "shitty" stuff to them to experiment. You will find that things will get easier. As far as morale is concerned, your priority should always be to stop a bad spiral in morale.

Sorry mate, your opinions and theories are just that, theories and opinions, same as every other Joe Blow out there. You THINK some aspects are important and others aren't. And they're Team Instructions not "Shouts". I virtually disagreed with most of what you said during your explanation of the Team Instructions.
@BusttheNet
@BusttheNet 7 жыл бұрын
+Happy Camper When the TC was introduced with FMlive the combination of Team Instructions were basically a set some of us called Shouts. I won't spend time arguing semantics here. I like to to think of them as shouts and I have been using that term interchangeably with TIs for the longest time. Over the years these TIs have been refined and that information during the design and testing phase is only done via closed forums, accessible to a few people. So yeah my opinions while they may be opinions are formed from working with those who designed them specifically. My goal with the channel is to share as much as I know with he general community and you are free to dismiss whatever I say as that is your right. And yes, these TIs well the use of them can affect how a team plays and what's more important is understanding which TIs have the potential in adding more risk and then figuring out why, which I hope to explain. And if it helps some people then I glad. As always people are free to disagree. Thanks for your insight
