Here’s a little tip I learned from a friend of mine. If you can’t have pockets in the dress, get one of those arm pouches that joggers wear for their phone/wallet, etc. get one of those bad boys and strap it to your thigh. That way you can keep your stuff and it stays covered up by the dress.

Definitely. My sister is about twice as large as Addy and wore a strapless wedding gown, my high school friend is even bigger than that and wore a strapless prom dress. You just need to wear a bustier underneath, or take the gown to a seamstress to have boning added. Addy looks like she could easily just wear a normal strapless bra though.

Not if you have big boobs. They slide down and never fit right. Tape is a no go too. It doesn't provide any support and it hurts. I have (natural) GG cup boobs. They don't make strapless bras that actually work in my size. The only time I have been a bridesmaid, I was exclusively breastfeeding my daughter. I insisted on a dress with straps. My boobs were even bigger than they are normally, and they don't make strapless nursing bras, and I needed to feed during the day. Sometimes, the bride has to compromise on her vision for the sake of her bridesmaids. It's not a disaster.

Granted, there are some concessions the bride has to take into account, but they are mere tweaks to her total vision. This girl hated the color the bride chose and kept bucking everything the bride and consultant were trying to do to make her feel more confident and included. And you can work with C-cups. I wear a natural D on the left and natural C on the right. I truly never go without a bra, but you can manuever them around to do what needs to be done. One of my niece's is BUSTY and she has to dress herself accordingly, to keep her girls in place. It's tough being busty, but we gotta do what we gotta do. Oh, and I'm under 5'0", so yeah, I'm basically boobs with legs.😂

Tbh i get it because while strapless may look good if the dress is tailored to fit, support is still the biggest issue. Not having proper support for hours on end for a chest her size can cause A LOT of back pain. I once tried on strapless dresses for less than 2 hours and the next day I couldn’t even sit up in a chair without back pain. It’s not about looks its about health concerns.

I remembr a groom saying save money and boys just wear a black suit - I said this is not going to work. There are many shades of blacks and many styles of black suits. Mine had a frock coat and was blue black, some had brown black others almost charcoal grey and others just looked worn forget the lapels and some guys with old suits with three or four buttons. Some had cotton, others wool blend, and even in wool there is everythign from crepe to flannel to worsted cool wool etc. some cuts looked western or more casual - heck I own a black Lululemon suit. As someone who is also busty, I get it. It sucks trying to find thing that'll fit right and that look good on you and whatever but you dont need to make comments about other people's bodies and, crazy as this may sound, you can wear a strapless dress if you're busty...just depends on the dress

I'm with that opinion. If the bride wants someone to wear something they don't like then she can pay for it. It's not like they're renting the dress. They have to keep it forever after they buy it (until they maybe sell or donate it). If I was to pay for my own bridesmaid dress then I would rather wear something that I am comfortable with. And I would want my betrothed friend to respect that, and if she didn't then we aren't as good friends as I would hope.

I totally understand where Addy (sp?) is coming from. I’m really top heavy too (36G in USA sizing to be exact) and I don’t feel comfortable in strapless, single strap, spaghetti strap, or anything that I can’t wear a bra in. But that clearly was a cover up for her real issues because she found something wrong with EVERY dress!!

Honestly I understand Addie's issue here. I get that she could have approached the whole thing more politely... And not made such a scene with her opinions. But you could really see how uncomfortable she was when she put on the orange dress. And every heavy chested women knows that no amount of alterations can fix an I'll fitted off-shoulder dress. It's a huge no-no! Especially if the person wearing it looks so visibly uncomfortable! It's not the same kind of uncomfortable as wearing a weird color dress. She will have to keep pulling her dress up the whole day to stop shoving hers boobs on people's faces!! The bride should not have put her friend in that position... Your friends are doing this FOR you! The least you can do is make them comfortable. I'm sure if they kept on searching they would have found something that everyone agreed on..

But seriously, that's what altering is supposed to do, make ill-fitting into fitting. You take a size that will fit the biggest part (so her boobs), and then make the rest smaller. So her boobs won't be spilling over. And they offered to put in an extra strap to keep it up. She just wasn't ready to compromise on anything.

Addie has a valid point but she was so unpleasant and demanding that they would ere unwilling to compromise with her. She could have gotten her point across in a more effective way. I don’t think that dress was the right choice for her body type but everyone was just done with her complaints.
