I believe the whole "Joey Games" line are not supposed to be Kids games. They are suppossed to be family games. And from the 3 they have realesed (Scribbly Gum, Pass the Party food and this one) Busy Beaks is the more complex.

Budgerigars - "budgies" - are the same thing as a common parakeet. However, there are other kinds of parakeet.

Generally speaking, as long as a card has no plastic component to it, it's fairly ecofriendly. A linen finish is just an embossing that applies a texture to the paper. A similar process is to give a card divets, commonly known as an "air cushion". Both finishes are lovely and do not add material to achieve the effect. Aside from that, glossy paper used for cards is usually not plastic, but instead made from paper coated with (get this) clay. Not all glossy papers are clay coated, but it's usually pretty obvious when a paper is plastic coated, as it is a much more waterproof and tough coating.

Well said. Didn’t know about the clay.

I love gameplay that kids can play with adults and everyone has fun. Well done to Joey games for their first 3 Aussie themed family games!

This one looks fun for people who like lighter, quicker games. I’ve seen a playthrough of it, and I agree, the scoring seems a little too tight, where you can maybe win by one or two points and just a couple of bad turns based on the card flips might make you impossibly behind.

Today I learned Americans don't call Budgerigars Budgies 😂

I like the discussion about the minimal age. I don't think the dice tower usually does it, unless it's a kids game, but once it's a family-plus game, this is normally not touched.

You can thank Pet industry marketers for renaming Budgies Parakeets in North America. Also "Budgie Smuggler" is slang for tight mens swim trunks lol

Glad to hear it’s more than a kids game! I’ll have to check it out.

Are those weird card boxes really using less material than tuck boxes? Seems weird

Those "eco-friendly" packaging elements always get replaced by plastic in my boxes anyway 🙄.

The artwork on the cards just isn’t in the same league as Canopy, and I don’t think the gameplay is either. Big miss for me.
