That's wonderful footage of the heron catching the fish! You could see the instant it saw the fish moving in the corner of its eye, all the way to the fish disappearing down its throat. To catch this sequence perfectly on video is just a dream shot. I think one thing you'll find living on the water is that the time you spend researching birds and wildlife in general is paid back many times over in the increased enjoyment you get from observing and recognising all the different species and their behaviour that you find around waterways.

Hi, I can’t believe it’s been nearly a year that I’ve been watching your Vlogs right from where I saw you packing boxes in your apartment in London. I’ve enjoyed everyone then and what makes some even better is being able to see Matilda she’s a beautiful girl. Hope the blogs keep coming and keep safe bye.

To get away when you are hard alongside; moor the bow to the bank and then put your helm hard over so that the rudder pints to the bank. Engage forward gear and increase to motor speed. This will push the stern away from the bank. When the stern is in mod-stream, cast off the line mooring the bow to the bank(keeping the line on the boat) and select reverse gear to pull the bow away from the bank. Centre your helm and select forward gear. Line the boat up with the canal.

Those Heron's must have amazing eyesight to spot a fish in that water... well caught (both the bird and your videography). Lunch was your metaphorical carrot to get you through the tunnel. The tunnel has slight Alien vibes with the vent shafts, the mineral build up... somewhat fascinating really. That lunch did look totally worth the tunnel travel though!

To give myself breathing space I delayed checking this one out for three days. Lovely, as always. Had my head in my hands as you admitted wearing lip gloss on a windy day. Maybe you're not perfect after all. Had my first MRI myself today, btw. Noises came in bursts of 14 on occasion. In two different tones. Hallucinogenic dreams. Weird but enjoyable with an open mind. As always the videos are super. Many thanks.

Those shots of the ventilation shafts. I've worked on film projects where by, that's a Directors or Designers wet dream. Blade runner....Ridley Scott....I've worked with the Guy. Boaters are always talking about the type of toilets that are best, it seems to me if I had a boat I’d want a pump out ….unless there’s something I’ve not heard about yet. The only other type might be an incinerator type unless 🫢you have to clean it out by hand scrubbing 😳. The tunnel would have freaked me out , I’m surprised it wasn’t full of bats which would have sent me hiding inside. I’m a wimp. 🫣, well done you 👍🏼 For my weekend, I’m planning to watch season 3 of Bridgerton if it’s good, doing some gardening and working on making some summer dresses, listening to a book and making some sort of baking to use up bananas that are getting manky. Happy cruising, hopefully it will warm up soon, it’s finally got warm and sunny here, you can actually watch things green up and grow in a day. 🥰🙋🏼♀️
@krisatomic6 ай бұрын
I’m really intrigued by the incinerator toilet! It does sound like a really good solution. We’re quite happy with our pump out, and we also have a backup elsan so feels like we have best of both worlds haha. I know separator/compost toilets are very popular but I simply draw the line there 😂😂😂 I’ve just started Bridgerton season 2 because I need to catch up before I get into season 3! Very silly fun show.

I had the exactly same experience in an MRI recently. I had no idea I struggled with claustrophobia until then. My whole body went into this uncontrollable meltdown, I couldn’t breathe and I un-realistically felt like I was stuck and going to die. I couldn’t stop my body from moving and panicking, nor could I get the panic button to work. Eventually the technician realised something was wrong and I got me out. I couldn’t not do the test, it was a part of a study on Long-Covid. I also needed to know how my brain had been affected. So he explained a few strategies that I could try. With lots of breathing and mental calming I got through the 45 minute long testing. It was absolute hell. It isn’t just that you are in a tight space, it is also the fact that the bed moves you occasionally further into the tunnel and it is incredibly loud. I don’t think I could do it again. Personally I think I would struggle with tunnels as well. So you are brave facing a bigger version of a MRI.
