Repeating what others wrote. Beautiful. Magical. And, oh, the white picket fence. Also struck by the geometry - ROUND allium flowers, STRAIGHT lines of stalks and grasses, STAR, OVAL, FEATHER, JAGGED shaped leaves...and I'd be remiss to not mention the TEXTURE. It is a wonderland of a garden.

That's a very pretty front garden. I love how the flowers lift the fence, and vice versa. (A few white allium Mount Everest scattered throughout, would bring out the white of the fence.) Alliums are I think my favorite flower in the garden..there is something very whimsical and elegant about them. And they are probably one of the most reliable bulb you can get. I planted a few new variety in the fall last year..a globemaster which hasn't bloomed yet but has huge foliage on it, Graceful which is a white one, Hair which looks crazy and whimsical, and Nevskiamun which looks more on the pink side. Hopefully they do well too🤞 Thanks for the tour ..I also like the peaceful background noise🥰

Thank you so much for this tour! I have rewatched Patty's garden tour video from last summer several times for inspiration. What a shock to see it at the beginning g of the season. I spotted several plants I'd like to see when they're blooming. For instance, the peony (my favorite flower) and the Baptisia (I didn't deadhead mine so now I have lots of plants, such a bugger to transplant because of its deep roots). I didn't know there's a white allium. I also didn't know about dividing alliums. That's probably why mine look small this year. I divided a Siberian Iris 'Miss Duluth' yesterday and have so many plants to share. I temporarily placed them in a new raised garden until I can pot them up. I'm talking dozens and dozens.

Hi Yulia, Loved your presentation on the Allium plants in Patty's garden. Very serene and soothing to your/our souls. I do have a question, I had picked up some Allium bulbs which I'll be planting soon. Do you put any amendments in the hole before you drop them in it? You mentioned bone meal should that be placed the soil too? Should I enclose the bulbs in wire for protection? I have squirrels that dig holes all over my yard and I'm concerned that they will dig them up and eat them. What do you suggest? Thank you, love your home and tours that are so informative. God bless, be safe
@ydoyougarden4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Joyce! No need for squirrel protection or any critter protection! They just don't like the smell and taste. As for the fertilizer bone meal is very helpful at planting. and I also fertilize when the shoots just start to come up in early spring. Good luck!

Is your soil well-draining or do you have a lot of clay? You might have to break that up with gypsum and amend the soil to make it more amenable to plants that need well-draining soil.
