Yo Thanks for what you do bro, you giving guys a shot at making music and understanding the business without having to jump through all the loopholes and cracking open 500 page books. I already got the Music Theory Joint (man I'm already doing some dope stuff with just the chord codes), and I'm going to cop literally all your educational material as I get through it. It's given me motivation to start beat making again. I was exclusively on maschine but the piano roll on FL is so damn easy to work with... Anyway thank you for all the hard work bro!

I requested a lot of this information pretty recently. Thanks for making a video on it man. Luckily I've been really doing my research so I've understood all of what's been said. Do you think you could make a video on forming contracts for exclusive and non-exclusive licenses? I've never quite understood how publishing and royalties coincide with each other. Let's say I'm an independent artist and I produce a beat that is used by an independent artist. Does that equate to a 50/50 split of the publishing? How does that coincide with a percentage of the artist's royalties? Thanks very much.

It's worth it if you're willing to do the work...the money will come, but you have to have your biz on point, no one wants to deal with a person who's not willing to invest in themselves!, it's a reason why they call it the music business.

True, before i began making music (not that long ago actually) i was coding, but i just didn't find any interest in it and i didn't do it beacuse i liked it. I got nowhere and did nothing with it. Now i make music and i see myself constantly wanting to improve and work a little more a little longer

When you lease out one of your beats or songs, you have to actually pay for it to be copy written to your name right? Can someone explain copy-writing your music and how to do it?

I believe that is once was back in the days when it wasn't a Saturated Business! Music production has becomes much easier accessible oppose to it once was back in the earlier 2000's. Now a days everyone and their Mom is a Beat maker most equivalating to being a Music Producer. Supply & Demand are the factors people have to look at when entering a career especially when the consumption value of the product (Product = Music/Song/Mp3 etc..). Music Sales are still down more then 85% since 2000 therefore its a lesser demand for purchase but not consumption. The control of the consumption is directed and controlled by the 'Major Labels and Major Companies such as Song Music' that controls music. Publishing is the 'KEY' to succeed as a Music Producer just as 'Busy Works Beats' mentions. Published songs that are licensed out can give a Music Producer a consistent residual ($5000 - $500k/annually). However, this is also a niche market controlled by those who have been established and know one another... It comes down to who knows who!

Hey BusyWorksBeats - I'm a bit curious as to the type of website this Firm you mentioned is building (in your 1 on 1 example). $50k for a website for an Artist? or is this $50k for a website for a label? I ask because, while I believe there are firms that may charge that amount, I wondered if it was a minimum price dependent on the type of site you were getting quoted on (a regular blog site compared to a full fledged social network with a paid membership[ecommerce]).

Hey, Game, should I start my FIRST (plans on expanding later) music business making money by an online beat-selling website licensed to any artist or company who wants it or should I build an all-in-one (I compose, mix, etc.) service for any artist who wants to collaborate in my studio (have to build one first haha)? Thanks for giving power to the people with every video and product (just downloaded Virus).

there is no such thing as oversaturation. you are your only competition. nobody will make the music you make. if you are trying to be somebody else or trying to be somebody you're not, you will fail. there is a video on this channel that talks about this.

yeah, very lol indeed - that's why those McDonald's workers work 40h/week & can barely afford the rent & food. "Well, its their fault!!! THEY do it!!!" - Of course, so lets pay as little as possible to everybody so we buy from the person which is ready to live the shittiest live with the lowest self-respect, maybe if they got children to support they will be finally ready to shine my shoes naked for 1 cent hahhaha.
