Logic Tip if you use Scale Quantize and then the brush tool it will paint notes in the selected scale. And NOT let you paint note outside the selected scale. To make chords faster for those who don't know music theory to well

High key frustrating that you keep posting logic videos from this mass recorded session when you still don’t know what you’re doing. Using a DAW that you’ve never used before and expecting it to be great is not the “real experience” and it isn’t fair to logic for you to trash without having read a single manual or watched a basic logic tutorial. I’d love to see more logic videos from you but not of you fumbling around and complaining because it’s not FL studio. Take like a day to learn Logic (like anyone would) and then start posting videos and you can criticize it all you want when you actually know how to use the DAW

As a Logic and Reason user navigation is a breeze. I've never jumped into any DAW and just knew how to do everything. Each DAW has a learning curve...just take the time to learn it and your workflow will easily increase.

when i started fl studio i barely had to look up help. that's how easy it should be, used ableton and logic before fl studio and while they are both amazing daws, they can be a bit unintuitive at first

You said you're new to Logic as am I(2 weeks). I know a few tricks though I can give you. HOPE THIS HELPS! 1. You can pop up a separate piano roll window when you press Command+4. Make sure the MIDI you want to edit is highlighted(selected). 2. To zoom in and out of the piano roll WITHOUT the pad go to the top right of the piano roll. Those slides control the width and length you see. 3. Placing Notes with mouse: You noticed that when you press Command it pops up the pencil. If you look in the middle top of the piano roll you see that the left side is a mouse, the right side is a pencil. Click the pencil and it pops up many options. You can select a brush(I always use) because it allows to place and erase notes. Its basically a brush and eraser. 4. Size of the notes. On the left side of the PR, above Quantizing the notes you see it says 1/16 Note. Click it and it brings up options, triplets, quads, you name it. You must USE BRUSH TO PLACE THESE SIZED NOTES for what I know. I havent really messed with any other tools that are controlled by Command.

There are 2 piano roll tools at the top of the piano roll... under “score” the left one defaults to pointer.... if you select it you can change the default left button to anything you want.... pencil for example will allow you to draw midi notes with left click

Almost All the stuff you complained is not in logic is in FL actually was in Logic first. Try looking through all the parameters in the inspector on the main window. And don’t forget to click the more arrow.

I've been learning logic since March. Really dope software. FL will always be Bae. Software has come a long way in the last decade.

You may want to insert an Arpeggiator MIDI plug-in. The note name of the vertical mouse position is displayed on top (left of Snap). You can strum using Q-Flam in the region inspector.
@MilesMcCoyYT4 жыл бұрын
To arpeggio you have to go to info-midi fx and then arp.

Just a bit of feedback. Haven’t watched the full video yet but just wanted to point this out. You can still left click in the piano roll on LPX to draw in a midi note. All you have to do is press on the first piano roll tool and change it to the pencil tool🙃. But thanks for the LPX videos. You’ve always made great content but it’s awesome seeing you use the daw I use!

As a Logic guy this is fun to watch, lol. I love it because I learned it, but I do want to try FL Studios just for the fun of it. It’ll be the flip side for me.

Lol the first thought i had seeing this video was that it was a logic complaints video. Reading the comments made me excited and laughing over people reacting to your complaining. Pure genius man

As a user of both, Logic users have all the right in the world to complain. These are tools. It's not us versus them... He's making these videos and acting like he's teaching when he knows nothing about the software. Pure ignorance.

To strum use Q-Flam in the inspector. Turn on quantize on track then Q-flam. In the video you don't have the inspector enabled or at least it's off to the left of screen.
@fixedvelocity45754 жыл бұрын
Inspector is the i in the circle button up top left. Tuen that on and you can see individual track options plus the mix fader, inserts, etc.

I’m a S1 user as well. But Presonus better do something for the S1 gang man. This pandemic got everybody in the house and this is the best time they need to step their game up as well. Logics ability to move notes up and down their own piano roll after they have been exploded from the drum machine designer is a big update. Still can’t do that in S1. Cmon Presonus, what in the world!!!!!
