Perfect. I was considering the purchase of a plug-in that lets you experiment with cord progressions and then gives you guides based on that to rapidly build out complexity, but I thought to myself that their MUST be a way to see ghosted tracks behind the part that you are editing. After poking around in logic for a day or two and not finding it, I decided I would need to set aside some time to do some research. But then like magic your video popped up in my feed (I had not yet begun to look for a method). This is exactly what I needed to know so that I can streamline building out parts. Thanks!

@@itstonyholiday Sure! Like the rules for the "1 3 5"? Do we do the "1 3 5" for all chords?
@itstonyholiday4 жыл бұрын
Shawn Chen Chords are typically made up of 3 notes, however they do not have to be 1 3 5. 1 3 5 are the numbers coinciding with the notes in the major scale and happen to make up a major chord. Best way to learn this I would say is search up “basic music theory/chord structure” on KZbin. There’s guaranteed to be some great videos that can explain it better than me! Thanks again

Great video dude. I have seen this method on flstudio and didn't know how to do in Logic. 2 things I didn't get though : - Why the ghost notes at 3:23 (C3 to C5) are suddenly not in the same spot than the ones at 3:20 (C2 to C4), one octave lower ? - At 5:53 why do you have a fifth note appearing on each chord at the very bottom ?
@itstonyholiday4 жыл бұрын
Thank you!! Yes it’s just the root note down an octave to make the chord sound more full
