💫 Over 32 years ago. I had my heart set in getting into the music industry. Registered with BMI. Did music seminars. Worked and learned the business. But. It seemed like no matter what I did. Something got in the way. After 7 years. I just left it as fate not being on my side. This wasn't to be a part of my journey. Years would pass before i learned of the evil that has been in the industry for decades. All along. God was protecting me.

I was a music manger when I lived in SC and one of my artists finally gained the attention of labels. This was back in 2004 and it wasn’t as easy to get on. I drove him to the label office and the man told me I had to stay in the lobby area. I thought it was weird the manager couldn’t go in the back with the artist. My artist ran out about 30 minutes and told me he was done & he’d never try to get on with a label again. He literally grabbed my arm and ran us out of that office. Till this day I have no idea what they tried to do to him but he quit music a few years later & now he’s a pastor. That was my first and last time managing secular artists.

This phrase is hard for me to understand because I don't know if it means what it literally says, which is that gold does not glitter, or if it's grammatically incorrect and should say "not all that glitters is gold." i think in life we are born & bred in such a way that it is SOO outside our habits/comforts/wayOFlife/knowledge to know anything different. So one day we decide to pursue music. As we figure out how to make it "work" we look for example's, guidance and/or teams... Then it seems uber discouraging when things don't go well. Even MORE discouraging when it seems like someone else has it figured out :( I mean, It does suck that in almost every other avenue in life, people can get help. Something about being a musician brings out craziness in others. it sure does. i think that craziness is just caz people are taught that 'some' lucky winner musicians get unlimited money & fame. That brings out the vulture zombie hunter in others. . . I have a song that is about >> people eating people with money teeth . I say, just make music. Forget about the world's involvement in your project. Forget about needing things from others regarding your project. If you think about it > how would it be 'your' project if you needed all these other people to make it happen < and I bet that sentence brews a DEEP reaction/defensiveness in some people. my response is merely>>yeah, just re-read my very very first sentence of this comment.

Ever since I was 15, I started waking up to the evil world we live in and industries that run it. With the current path I’m on, I’ll be going into the film/music industry and it’s something I’m not entirely looking forward to because I don’t wanna be associated with other weird and predatory men. Recently, I even had my own crazy experience with a public figure who propositioned me with something (to say the least) in return for payment and connecting me with his people and when I said no, he started getting agitated and saying I’m “not willing to do what it takes to make it” amongst other things. I had always heard of people experiencing what I went through, but it was crazy to actually go through that myself and that let me know what games had to be played to make it and such

Why is it sad, they could use NFTs instead of music atleast they are supporting. Even drug money is still funding. Could be worse than drugs like foreign overthrow, or enslavement. End of the day addiction and self destructive choices in life are a personal choice everyone is going to pass anyway so what is so bad about some people enjoying themselves in a way that destroys themselves quickly, and not all drugs will destroy you, technical food and water are chemicals too. I think making healthy lifestyle choices can help people find happiness but whether it is a chemical in a powder from or a juicy burger there are limits on what the body can take before it destroys self. IMO all the criminalization stuff is probably what perpetuates a culture of abuse rather than people accessing stuff that is good and people use it in a way that is relatively responsible and non self destructive. IMO the music industry should be happy anyone is funding them. I don't personally use illicit drugs but I am eating canned pork right now and I realize if I were taking MDMA instead right now in the right dose it might be less destructive than the pork.

New York City, late 1970's and early eighties. If you walked the streets of Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan or the Bronx on a saturday, you'd come upon a block party or they be setting up for a block party that day. So we'd double back and it would turn into a dope jam. They would have stacks of speakers and shiny new McIntosh, Cerwin Vega, Crown, Phase Linear amps. I'd wonder...where'd they get the money for all this dope ass equipment. Ah ha, the drug game. The DJ's would have crew or affiliates. It was the same thing when the disco's started in New York. The first disco's were restaurants with the tables removed and or hotel ballrooms. There was always someone circulating in the crowd that had anything you want. Who would think that when you listen to your fav song on the radio and your humming along, what went into the making of that song. And it's a shame that in most situations someone got ripped off as well either by the label, the manager, the promoter or even the club owner. And you with stars and dollar signs in your eyes are thinking; yeah i'm doing the damn thing. Guess again. If it ain't in writing and you don't or aren't seeing any real money then it's most likely you who's getting ripped off. The music game can be seedy, cut throat, dangerous and weird all at the same time.

This dude knows what's up , im from mexico , he has the facts right even not being from here , i'm from one of mexicos hot spots for covert cartel activity , meaning "nice quiet neighborhood" , lots of human traficcking, peple missing , all young women being exposed to "being madamed" at any given day by one of their own friends , those business are all covered up by the "local economy" meaning these people take the slavery and prostitution money and put on "small local shops" such as grocery, fruit , "car washes" , car engineering / mechanics. On a side note what crushed me is to see women actually interested in such , like some of mexicos biggest femalemurder cases or public in the media point to have happened in ways that most people don't understand because it lacks the part where there wasn't a crazy stalker guy involved , but a lot of them happen at "partys" where people "network" , so a lot of these people knew exactly where they were going to make business , it just went wrong at some point, horrible horrible things , too heartbreaking and paradigm view of the world altering , so sad , may god or love or the universe or whatever is the representation of good to you be with us because damn, stuff is effed up.

I definitely believe the stories I've heard about those disgusting diddy parties and I believe everything cassie and others have came forward with and after seeing the video of diddy attacking cassie I can only imagine all the other horrifying stuff that either wasn't captured or hasn't been leaked yet. He's a monster and I don't think he's the only one in the music industry that is just as horrible. I think we'll be seeing more come out about it in the future.

Some people in the Music Industry are Trapped, some are sellouts, some r cowards, some brave, some ok but have no pull 😁 and some r just no-good. Somebody gotta be the scapegoat ... somebody have to be the Fall Guy. Some of their asses gotta take one for the Team. 💰 The world 🌎 is Ying-yang. 💯 Plus... good and evil Spirits are real. 💯 Most people are in the dark as usual. Sometimes they eventually understand but a lot of times they never know the real deal. There's a sucker born everyday. God Speed. 🙌🙏

Jesus is king. Lord I know you have a purpose for me. Even though at times I do not understand. I have complete trust in you. Heavenly Father. Being a single mom with two children with special needs is overwhelming at times. Every month is a struggle to get by. But as I struggle to pay rent and as I struggle to buy groceries for my children. God give me strength.❤️

Truly, this video was so helpful! I am a growing musician and I have big dreams of fulfilling all my creative visions but I want to make sure I’m doing it the right way, and showing love in the world with an end result of love, not twisted into something corrupt. I’m not in the music industry yet but this was so helpful to learn about the ways artists truly are controlled. Thank you I will not forget this advice, and god bless you man 🌸🌸

The fun of music culture is in its hedonistic accoutrements. Having pleasure and joy get corrupted by hurting people drags it down to evil. Record labels' investment in for-profit carceral system furthers exploitation.

back in the 90's with the rise off the hardcore scene in the netherlands , there where party's everywhere. but most off the smaller venue's income came off the profit off selling alcohol..But well.. most of the visitors didn't need alcohol to party all night through. So there where certain places which turned off the water in the bathrooms ,just to sell you water. and some had there own "associates" to sell the s... and shared their profits with the owners... So some people where caught by the "security" , and then offered to buy back the goods they just confiscated. But what you described with how they lure in women..damm that's way more evil imho.. thank you for this video

What tripped me out is when I started to learn about Shirley Temple. Of course I've always known who she was and what she was known for. But i never questioned the movies and roles that she did. I was born in '89, so it was a little antsy to sit there and watch the black n white shows but curiosity made me able to watch and OMG!!! when I watched and listened and watched some more and then learned of the parents motives I was behooved! (they only cared about their daughter making them money no matter what). This is a sick and cruel world that we live in. And the name of one of her movies is Virgi. I thought I was trippn and misreading it, thinking that her characters' name was Virginia. But nope! It was "Virgi" for a reason. Sp much more...............

I'm not a religious person, but from a moral standpoint -- and as a career DJ/performer -- I appreciate where you're coming from on how the dark side of the music business functions. That said, would you be down to do a follow-up and talk about some examples of people who were able to gain success without getting sucked into that dark side?

I'm glad you are putting this out there. These are actual facts. I also have insider info on how and when the payola thing began with Funk Flex at Hot 97. He had a whole DJ conglomarate called Big Dawg Pitbulls all over the tri-state area that he taught how to take payments for airplay by unsigned independent artists. Those unknown artists are usually funded by street dudes with street money that pay the DJ'S $1000-1500 or whatever to play their artist song a certain amount of times a day for a certain amount of time, eventually the song becomes hot because it gets played so much that people start to request the song. I'll just stop there.

The entertainment business is nothing more than just a cover for illegal trades and money laundering that actually takes place. It's basically organised crime that takes place from behind the scenes. As long as the illusions of wealth, popularity, and influence are shown to the masses, you will never comprehend what the artists actually had to do to achieve those successes. It's a place of broken dreams and vices that ruin a person, and the more you align yourself with some of these sick individuals, the sicker you end up. In most cases, the abused go on to become the abuser if no help is properly sought after. The entertainment business has always had strong ties to mobs and cartels. And when you follow the money, you'll be shocked to discover who the real players are behind the scenes. Always stay prayed up no matter what. "All that glitters is never gold."
