It's funny, the thing that turned me off Gale at the beginning is now making me endeared to him. The moments of sheltered, awkward man who has no swag to save his life. The pretentious little book worm who can't help himself inserting stupidly long words. The power hungriness that kind of jumps out of nowhere. I'll never be as attached to this lovely wholesome man as I am the team's resident snarksters but I've come to respect him!

1:16:48 That Astarion conversation is so good, so well written and so well acted. And I recently realized that it means a lot to me personally. Social events are incredibly taxing for me (I’m getting tested for autism later this year), and I’ve always powered through and collapsed or broke down later - not as in I always collapsed from exhaustion after, but said collaspe was always delayed until the event was over as much as possible - because I didn’t know that leaving early or not going to social events unless I was physically unwell was a thing I could do. But now I know I don’t need to. One of the most powerful things in fiction is when a character reaches across time and space and reality to touch your heart with the knowledge that you’re not alone. That someone else knows what you’re going through, or at least the shape of it. Astarion and I both know what it is to ignore ourselves in order to get through something, and now we know we don’t need to. We have the chance to break the habits that give us scars, and we will fight for it with everything we have. On a somewhat different note, DAMMIT LARION, LET ME HUG MY FRIENDS!!! All I want is a camp dialogue once I have enough approval along the lines of “Do you want a hug?” Or at least to be able to hug more than one of them at emotional moments. Because as far as I know, it’s just Karlach. Who we should definitely be able to hug more than once after the second engine upgrade.

1:07:01 It seems like it's obvious, but from what I have seen most of the guys in KZbin that just tell Astarion to do it, or tell him the potion is worth it. But when girls get to this part in their gameplay most of them don't use Astarion to get the potion. I wonder what is about? About the understanding of the situation and drows intentions? Or is it just meta gaming?

Many factors here tbh. Socialization from the childhood, how boys and girls are raised. Sadly a lot of women (if not all) experience at some point in their life experience sexual harassment or sexual assault. So they emphatise with Astarion - a character which was forced to have sex with other people in order to lure them into Cazador's palace. Forcing Astarion to let the potion maker use him, is basically doing the same thing Cazador did. It also depends if you play for the story what kind of a you want (a "good" run vs "evil" run), or play just for gameplay's sake (best stats, metagaming etc.).
