I've always liked the stuff that Ugritone releases. Sometimes they sound more realistic than Toontrack or GGD.

damn you didn't have to go all out for the demo section! just bought this, so far it's pretty good. there is an issue with FL studio though, the kick ends up sounding distorted and bitcruched somehow! apparently other people have documented this too. i fixed it by toggling "use fixed size buffers" on in the plugin settings though, after this it seems to clear up the weird issue.

Is it well compatible with any DAW (Cubase in particular) And how does it compare to Groove Agent S.E ? Is it really an added value for rock and metal prod ?

Yes it's perfectly compatible, it's just a VST. I haven't used Groove Agent to compare, but it's one of the best kits from Ugritone, and I've seen it come on sale for $10, so it's certainly a great value there!

With the right processing, you should be able to. These are clean, so there's plenty of flexibility, though they may almost be too nice for that lol

@@NickLeonard haha yeah, maybe using one of the really poor quality basic EZdrummer packs and then using a ton of reverb might be a better move, but this Ugritone is on sale for $30 so I am thinking about pulling the trigger. I used the Duality II EZdrummer for my last album which sounds good, but I think I'm getting tired of those presets now.

Nice video! I kind of feel the Ugritones sits in a weird place for me. They sound really stale and boring compared to acoustic drums, but they dont really sound like a cool drum machine either, like say an Alesis Hr 16. Would find it really difficult to use something like this in my own productions.

With any sampled instrument, a lot of the energy and realism comes down to the velocity and timing! Having done a lot of drun recording both acoustic and electronic, I think I can get better results with a lot less work with sampled drums. The Ugritone libraries can be a bit different to work with compared to other samplers, but they're fun too. You have to like the sound though!
