​@@Tiewaz Oh this checks out. I was traveling with family once and an aunt of mine was shocked I'd just walked right up to the enormous man at the parking garage's podium to ask directions. He was big and had braids! Fake gasp the horror! He could have done anything socially acceptable in that brightly lit area with cameras on us! We were travelling caravan style on a shortish trip, so I was in my old Smart ForTwo. My uncle probably would have also said something racist but he was boggled by said enormous man fitting in my roller skate of a car to park it for me. Once I shift the seat back it really could accommodate people over 7' tall.

@@MikeDCWeld At places where parking is not free you can get the cost of parking back when you have i.e. bought something at the mall or eaten in a restaurant so when you have spent money where you paid for parking. But not all places will offer this service.

There's validated parking where you give a valet your keys and they park your car for you or there's valet parking where you park yourself (Usually in parking garages) and you get a ticket going in that you have to get validated so you can leave the parking garage. For example doctors' offices will have parking garages where you have to get a ticket in order to go in to the parking garage and then you have to get your ticket validated at the doctors' office in order to be able to leave. I hope this makes sense and helps you understand

In moments like these I always remember a voiceline from Medieval 2 Total War: "I am willing, but not able to!" My best discussion in that regard so far was a completly sober customer who asked if I could open a window. The windows at our restaurant can't be opened. They are literally missing the mechanism to be opened, they are just glass fronts, not 'real' windows. Even with showing it to him, it was a concept he could not grasp. That I don't have a button somewhere that magically opens the windows who don't have any kind of handle. And after the discussion "ended"...the host came to me and said "my friend just told me you refuse to open the window, that's rude. Why won't you do that?" Thankfully, the host was able to understand the informations my words and his own sight presented to him, so the conflict could be solved that way. But somehow I'm almost convinced that somewhere out there someone is saying "go to that place, it is great" and a certain someone replies "no, the waiter there is super-rude, he wouldn't even open the window when I asked him!!!1"

You know, there is a hotel I stay at for a convention every year where it's the other way around. You validate your valet ticket at the front desk, and then you go to the valet. It always confuses the heck out of me every year. Why anyone would assume to go to the front desk for a valet ticket first confounds me.

So yesterday at the grocery store I work at was stupid busy. At one point in the day, there was a lady at the self checkout who flagged for help so I finished up my customer and went to see what she needed and she asked me to help her ring up her purchase. I told her I could not that not only do I have customers waiting, this is self checkout. She said she had no idea how to ring up the produce and the lines were so long and I told her that again, this is self checkout. If you need actual assistance, you need to go through a line and wait like everyone else. She continued to stand there pushing the help button and was told by all 3 other cashiers plus the self checkout attendant (who actually had to open her check stand which I have never seen in the 8 years I have worked there) that she needed to go to an actual lane if she needed that much assistance. I wanna note that even on a slow day, she would be sent through the cashier line. Self checkout is self checkout. While it is a way to get you out faster, it does not entitle you to skipping the line.

On every self check out machine it tells you how to check out produce. Just follow the directions. Place the produce on the scanner/scale and type in the item number on the sticker that is affixed the the produce. Amd it will add the cost.

Ugh, I feel this. Not a hotel, but a pool. We had no way to take payment for memberships or day passes on the pool deck. We couldn't even check when memberships expired, we could just see "valid" or "invalid". People would try and sweet talk is into "just selling me the pass, I mean it can't be *that* hard". Like yes it is, it is very hard to sell you a day pass/membership when I have no way to take money, no passes to hand out, and no safety waiver for you to sign, go to member services, if you'd just gone there instead of arguing with me you'd already be in the pool.

Yup the it's Christmas or rather Christmas I just heard that yesterday at work by the last customer who was a total Karen. Then guys came in at 2:45 and we closed at 3pm yesterday. Well he decided he wanted to gift many curtains so he proceeded to go in the decorations and ask basically our only clerk to do his shopping with him to help and match color which should be fine except we were only 3. 1 clerk in the clothing fabric then one in the decorations and me the cashier. At 3 he finally decided to go pay but was still unsure about color. At this point the decorations clerk went back to put up sign for the next sale. Those sale who were not on the register yet. So all these 50% were not coded in since the sale begin on the 26. So when I check his item yes many item didn't get the proper discount which created a long wait as I had to manually change all of them. He also then proceeded to berate me after pointing out mistake which again it happen so I corrected them. Then he proceeded to be condescending as he said "that he would have to double check now since I can't do my job" and even after paying he sat at the chair to overlook again. Then he ask for bag which we no longer give and don't even have. He ask for trash bag but I'm not supposed to do so then he said it's Christmas so I should give him bag. Also mind you he left half his order since he change his mind. Then, at this point it was 3:15 he took the two trash bag and ask if he could leave him them while he get his car closer. I began to say no but he was so rude that I half ased said yes since I had to count my money anyway. He did come 2 minutes later tough at least. For real...I did stay with my manager tough to clean the store and put up sale since we couldn't finish we left at 4pm, the other clerk left since she had family coming.
