But I don't believe his ending of the speech is just the halting of his belief in that moment. I think the tea becoming settled right after his speech ended means he's reached a new state of enlightenment cause he's managed to out talk Gowasu in their little debate. And Gowasu asking for more tea is obviously trying to test his where Zamasu' heart and mind truly lie, because it's a bit worrying seeing the tea become clear after Zamasu spoke so confidently about his stance just before. Now in the case of riding the Nimbus, that's a different matter. While at certain points Zamasu is pure of heart, would the Nimbus accept him. It has its own level of sentience right? Would it deny Zamasu because of his beliefs despite being pure? I don't know

"Pure" is defined as "not mixed or adulterated with any other substance or material", not just how we would measure superficial moral goodness. I don't believe that Zamasu passing the tea test ever meant that he was good, but rather that he had set aside any doubts or confusion as to his own divine mission. His mind, like the tea, was unclouded simply because he'd finally made up his mind.

There was no shame, no guilt, no regrets, no second thoughts and no doubts when he enacted his Zero Mortals plan. In his mind, Zamasu is righteous and sees no inherent evil in such a process. In fact, in the Dragon Ball Fusions game, there's a particular skill that is exclusive to certain characters, like Kid Goku and Zamasu called Pure Heart, which allows them to be immune to attacks like the Devilmite Beam, which specifically targets any trace of evil in one's heart. (Do take information from games with a grain of salt though. They aren't going out of their way to misinform but they don't typically consult Toriyama on what tid bits of info to add like this.) Edit: I will say, I don't think Zamasu stayed pure hearted throughout after that, like when he fused or something. And I also don't think Goku Black was pure hearted like Zamasu was either. He seemed more malicious and dark when he fought likely because of his innate saiyan instincts and felt like he was bordering on the line of just being straight up evil. He even relished in toying with Trunks and the others.

No. The Devilmite Beam and Spirit Bomb are both tests based on being pure of heart. Goku and Gohan are the ONLY CONFIRMED cases where the other methods have checked out(Goku surviving the Devilmite Beam and Gohan bouncing back the Spirit Bomb). Krillin doesn't really count though as I don't think Adult Krillin ever tried riding the nimbus, and he was never having to bounce back the Spirit Bomb in the Saiyan Saga. Kid Buu and Frieza are evil, so they would take damage from the Spirit Bomb. The sword of hope also has the same properties as the Spirit Bomb due to the energy being accumulated the same way, and it killed Merged Zamasu. If Zamasu WAS pure of heart, the sword of hope should have done absolutely nothing.

Yeah, That's a recurring theme in Dragon Ball that being "Pure of Heart" means you have a childlike innocence and are not bogged down by cynicism and selfishness, but that doesn't mean it's the same thing as being morally good. It's repeatedly stated that Goku is "Pure of Heart" but also claimed that he's "not a hero" or otherwise doesn't think of himself as a good person, Fat Buu and Kid Buu are both stated or implied to be "Pure of Heart" yet that doesn't prevent them from doing horrific acts of evil, and Zeno is also stated to be "Pure" but said purity also means he is willing to perform destruction on an incomprehensible scale without really being bothered by the moral ramifications of it. It's entirely possible for Zamasu to be "Pure" but be so delusional that he considers his unquestionably evil action to be for the betterment of the Multiverse.

There's actually at least two scenes depicting zamasu with the tea. The first scene shows the tea being clear that begins to cloud when he begins opening up about his feelings towards mortals. The other scene depicts zamasu with the same clouded tea as he continues to express his doubts about mortals but at the end of the scene it shows the tea become perfectly clear despite him holding his ground, implying despite his views of mortals he's pure of heart.

No statement in sub ever says that Stardust Breaker is able to do such a thing; it is only implied by a statement in the Movie 12 dub, which isn't much more accurate than the poorly translated work Funimation was generally putting out at the time. Stardust Breaker is just a glittery ki ball, nothing special. Vegetto would have gotten good use out of the technique if it had said ability.

And while it's from external material, it's important to note that on the game DB Fusions, Zamasu has the ability "pure heart" where he's unaffected by the devilmite beam.

Gotta always look at a persons’ actions. SUPER Broly was kindhearted and even reserved but was looked at as the “bad guy” of his respective movie all the way up until he was hit with Gogeta’s Soul Punisher. Gogeta smiled when he realized it didn’t kill Broly as he is indeed pure hearted and has no intent on killing. Meanwhile Zamasu on the other hand was brought up with a Supreme Kai but his actions behind the scenes is what sealed his fate as an evil doer wanting to intentionally kill off mortals. @@crono276 Those names came from the fact that DBZ was first dubbed in 1996, which wasn’t exactly the best time for faithful anime dubs in general, so I give those a pass. The problem there is that FUNimation refused to correct them in Dragon Ball Kai or Super, and hell, for the first time, even had them be called that in the subs when Super started.

After zamas comes to the realization that mortal are born of malice and need to be exterminated, the tea clears, so he is still pure hearted because he truly believes that what he is doing is justice. In a sense he is right, but does it in the worst way imaginable. Also this might be a bit of a stretch, but in the game dragon ball fusions, zamasu takes no damage from the devilmite beam or the soul punisher from that matter, moves that literally kill you if there is even a drop of malice in your heart

@@chuviis3508 Goku black's goal wasn't to fuck with trunks. He wanted to exterminate all mortals from earth as fast as possible in order and preserve the planet for his "utopia". Trunks always made it out either by luck, or with the help of Mai and her militia stalling him ( if you don't believe me, Goku and Vegeta almost got killed by zamasu and Goku black in episode 56 and Mai literally rescued them by throwing tear gas at them. Each mortal he comes across, he exterminates. Trunks is no exception.

Which is why Gowasu had him poor it constantly. It’s part of his test to become a supreme Kai. To have a pure heart. Maintain that pure and calm heart as the Kai’s are not to interfere with mortals and must remain impartial. The object of the tea was to pour a clear brew. If his heart was impure the tea will ripple and taste sour. You can see zamazu inner conflict about mortals effect the tea. It’s because he was always in conflict with his ideas of justice that the tea always rippled back and forth
