Oh, you were behind this! You and Butch Vig together, can't go wrong buying this for sure, lol! Your loops are some of the best acoustic drum loops I have and I use them all of the time. Invested a few years ago and so glad that I did! I own this new Butch Vig instrument, and it is really cool, you guys did a great job on it.

@@BlakeHeart Awesome! So happy to hear that you're a Loop Loft customer. I connected with Butch a few years back and when Native Instruments acquired The Loop Loft we synched up in LA and set out to make a brand new Kontakt Instrument that was designed for modern production AND had Butch's custom drum sounds built in. This is the result. :)

This has a great interface, and your song was great. It kind of reminded me of Muse! That Alesis QS8! Memories. Now I'm nostalgic for gear I sold to update to ModX8, Minilogue XD, and Native Instruments stuff.
@jefgibbons3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! (love Muse) And good eye... I took the QS8 apart recently to strip and stain the end wood pieces, it worked great, but now the LCD screen doesn't work! (not much of an electrical expert). I have only used it as a controller for 10 years now, so it still does the job.

Hi Jeff, how does this compare to the AbbeyRoad Drummer collection which is part of Komplete Control Suite?
@jefgibbons3 жыл бұрын
Hi Maus! Very different for sure, those are highly multisampled real sounding kits (they sound great) and this is a heavily processed set of kits meant to emulate Butch’s sound.

I see you using an old qs8 keyboard. That was my first keyboard which I still have. I’m curious why you use that over the Kontakt pianos and newer models. What do you like about it? I think it’s time i dust mine off.
@jefgibbons Жыл бұрын
Goode eye! It was my very first purchase that started me off on this path!! I was 20... I don't use it much lately, just any time I need the feel of a real piano. It still feels great! I also used paint stripper on the black wood pieces (they unscrew) and then sanded and stained them. Looks way better IMHO!
@AC-pu2eh Жыл бұрын
Nice. I think I’m going to have to refinish mine too. I have all cherry wood in my studio. Good call Do you just run the 1/4” direct to record with the Qs8 or are you running midi with it ?
@jefgibbons Жыл бұрын
@@AC-pu2eh My sound module kind of died ages ago, so it's just running midi. Even the lcd display is dead now! Keys still work great though...
@AC-pu2eh Жыл бұрын
@@jefgibbons sorry for all the questions, but how does it run through midi. Do you have to use a midi cable or does it with usb? I remember having issues running it in midi decades ago. Lol. Does it map with NI pretty easily?
@jefgibbons Жыл бұрын
@@AC-pu2eh I just run MIDI out to the MIDI in on my Komplete Kontrol keyboard or my audio interface MIDI IN, and it all works perfectly! It doesn't have USB out.

So the Butch Vig Drums doesn't work with MASCHINE 3 ? Butch Vig DRUMS appears in my browser INSTRUMENTS but I can't load the kits or access the individual samples in MASCHINE any help out there? and I can hear the audio preview loop as I expect to. However, when I try to load a kit, I can only get the audio loop to button/pad
@minusyou13 жыл бұрын
I feel like with all of NI's new releases and focus restructuring this release was kind of phoned in. If anything it should have been a new Maschine/Battery expansion. There's a serious lack of focus on acoustic drums on those pieces of software and it kind of boggles my mind they just decided to make this it's own thing. I appreciate their affordable Play instruments but I hope this isn't a sign of things to come. We don't need hundreds of $50 boutique instruments.
@darkogav3 жыл бұрын
Yeah. I feel like this could have been a battery expansion too. but I think making it a play series instrument sort of make it much less of a learning curve for regular users.
@dennislacroix99623 жыл бұрын
Can you create individual outputs?
@nobuyoshikitano33053 жыл бұрын
That sounds great, but roughly 300 drum samples for $49/69, hmm... I reckon we´ve been spoiled by all the "2.000 samples, 10 GB for $29,99" recently. Looks like a real timesaver though, I´d grab this immediately if I didn´t have to worry it´ll turn up in Komplete 13 two weeks later.
