Butter Boat 2.0 - Indestructible, ALL PLASTIC Offshore Boat!!

Finally the reveal of Butter Boat 2.0. I bought this bought a few months ago. It's replacing my zodiac Cadet 350 Aluminum Floor model. I needed something similar in size to fit in my garage and this new boat is 12'2" long. Perfect fit with the trailer. Material is a hard plastic which makes maintenance obsolete. There's literally nothing you NEED to do to maintain this boat after it's out of the water. If it's kept in a garage I don't see why this boat couldn't be passed down from one generation to the next.

FINALLY Right? Well, this is Butter Boat 2.0. I'm really curious what you guys think about it, especially those of you with boats or kayaks. Some of the biggest reasons I got this boat are 1. Durability 2. Maintenance Free - I can literally take this boat to sea and fish my butt off then bring it back home and it will be good as new for years. Otherwise a quick rinse and it's clean! 3. FITS IN MY GARAGE! This was probably the biggest factor in buying another boat similar size to the Original Butter Boat. Living in SF there's no room to store a boat so this was perfect. I anticipate many years of fishing with this boat; and if I get sick of it or upgrade again, I can throw it in my backyard and leave it until I want to play again. Just wish they had more US retailers!

I built a small boat like yours out of fiberglass. Foam is your friend. LOL. The fact that it has a hull filled with closed cell foam gives the boat a ton of serviceability. Quieter ride and the bottom won't cave in when punching into waves. That said, one good wave over the bow will flood you out of the boat. I didn't see scuppers or a bilge pump. You fish a lot by yourself so invest in a mustang style suit. Your pacific water is a bit chilly for a long term swim. Best of luck with the new boat. Love what you do. Take care.

The boat has a scupper and can be fully filled with water without sinking.. pulling the scupper and running the boat will drain it fully in about 6 minutes.. or bail.. I've drained a couple hundred litres out of mine after i took a side wave once putting it on the plane.. Its definately essential to have a 1/2 milkbottle bail though unless you like wet feet

I sold these Whaly boats few years ago in the UK and they totally rock! They are as tough as shit and impossible to sink. You can drop one off a two story building onto concrete and it'll just bounce without cracking. A sledgehammer will just bounce back and take your head off without damaging the boat. You can completly fill it with water and it'll still float and keep going. Sold loads to rescue services and went out with the fire department water rescue team and it impressed the hell out of them. They ain't pretty but they sure as do what they say on the box! Great choice of boat ! Love the channel and tight lines!

@@1SeekTruth1 I've never handle one in rough seas, but I sold a 435 to the fire dpt flood rescue guys and rigged it up for white water rescue. We tested it in a rescue training session in the White water of the local weir sluice (in flood conditions.) Including deliberately submerging the bows with 6 firemen in full rescue kit on board. I put the nose right under the outflow and flooded the whole boat..... She was sluggish but had enough buoyancy that I was able to maintain control and it only took a couple of minutes to bail her out and we were back in buisness. I no longer work there, so sadly don't have access to all the pictures.... So yes they dont self drain but you can't sink them..... Hope that helps.

This thing is awesome! One suggestion: Your fuel line looks a little sketchy, especially when you are fighting fish and moving around the boat. You will punch a hole in it, especially when the fuel line get sun baked/old. You can run a PVC pipe along the floor and have the line fed through that to make it nice and clean and out of the way.

Travis Ray That was my thought process. The rubber line is usually thick but still you never know a hook, a fish or a knife, heck maybe even too much pressure from kneeling on it. Being stranded in the ocean would be terrible. Do what Travis said and run it through a pvc pipe to guard it. Also carry backup everythinggggg in terms of mechanical parts wise.

You inspired me to start fishing again. And the video when the rod goes "babababa" reminded me when to strike on the rod. I caught a grouper, parrot fish and another species I'm not familiar with. Keep the faith don't let things bother you. If there is anything I have learned in my 66 years is that all things are temporary.if it weren't for tough times we wouldn't know what good times are. AnywAy that's my lesson for today. I'm waiting for a trip to Alaska and fish the kenai river. I did it on a slow drift in 1995 . My friend of 55 years wants to go in may. I hope it all works out. Hard to believe that my last trip there was 24 years ago. I camped for n a small island in the middle of the river, man what a hoot I had. I sure do love to fish but Alaska kinda ruins any fishing you may do when you get back home too Southern California for a while. I remember eating fresh salmon on the bank of that river. We had wrapped it with in foil and threw it directly in a camp fire.i don't remember having any butter but next time you can count on me having some. I also fished the little sue river.
