GIRLFRIEND, I DON'T BAKE, BUT THIS LOOKS SOOO EASY LIKE SOMETHING I COULD DO. PLUS THE FACT THAT I LOVE BUTTER CAKE AND 7UP CAKE. MY HONEY WOULD HAVE LOVED THIS CAKE. HE WAS CAKE AND MILK GUY. AND HE LIKED HIS MILK ICE COLD. SO EVERY NOW AND THEN I WOULD BUY HIM A SLICE OF CAKE FROM KROGER OR RANDALLS AND A PINT OF MILK AND PUT THE MILK IN THE FREEZER BEFORE HE'D GET HOME FROM WORK. WHEN HE'D SEE THE MILK IN THE FREEZER, HE'D HAVE A BIG GRIN ON HIS FACE BECAUSE HE KNEW I HAD EITHER CAKE OR DONUTS FOR HIS DESERT!!! HOW MUCH I MISS HIM. I FEEL PRIVILEGED TO HAVE KNOWN HIM!!!😍😍😍

Simple is best! This recipe has been made for decades all over the world. My family from France made it with orange zest and juice instead of vanilla and glazed with butter, sugar and Cointreau Liquor. My family from Spain used lemon zest and juice instead of vanilla and glazed with lemon, sugar and butter with a drop or two of sweet sherry ( Jerez). Growing up in the USA I use vanilla. Always a winner! 👍🏆Thanks for sharing! Tradional and original is timeless and perfect.

Looks so good you presented this so well...simple and with enthusiasm. 🎂How far do you poke skewers in? I would do to within inch of bottom but, you seem to just be poking 1-2" on top. What do u recommend? 🍹I'm substituting rum for the water cant wait to make this tonight. My grandma used to make this cake just like this even making her own buttermilk! 🍰Simple and classic is best in baking.
