Backflip save has to be in the top 10 saves ever! The slowmo is priceless. You almost look bored upside down waiting for the right time to kick your legs over. I'm really enjoying the geo analysis and back to back compares. So many of us seldom if ever get to try different trials bikes so its nice to learn about how the differences change the riding. The first time I ever saw a comp trials bike in person was 3 years ago.

With so much leverage with the long stems and forward bars, I'd be tempted to press a piece of solid aluminium into the steerer tube where the stem clamps and further down past the top bearing. You can drill and tap it to M6 so it also acts as the steerer tube bung for the top cap/bearing pre-loader.

I know this is part of the theme of your channel but I think you should ride one bike more. As you said, muscle memory is key so getting to "know" one bike will definitely help you riding it better. Also I reckon BB height is relative to how you want to ride. To simplify: new type of riding with hook techniques, less rolling and more static moves: high BB, but old school riding, more rolling moves, wheel placement and obviously taps: low BB . Pick your own! But you know all that, don't you? Nice save by the way!

How do you feel about disk brakes? They still work if you bend the rim a bit, compared to v-brakes.
@Ali_Clarkson5 ай бұрын
Disc brakes are good, nice and quiet with good modulation and fairly reliable. The issue with comp style trials is that they’re not as precise as a rim brake, even with tight spokes there’s always going to be a little flex and movement and with the wheel being stopped at the hub this movement is magnified by the time it gets to the tyre so even with locked brakes there can be an inch of movement at the tyre…with trials sometimes needing to be millimetre accurate any excess movement can be the difference between making a move and not. Also discs are heavier than rim brakes and more prone to damage, especially when hopping sideways.
@HDJess5 ай бұрын
@@Ali_Clarkson that makes sense. Never though about the movement before, but then I can't do what you do on bikes anyway 🙂
