Do you have a special way to keep the cake level, I have made a few but they are always slanted on one side.

@@maureenwilliams8666 What i do is, I cut my cake layers evenly. Then, make sure before adding each layer, it is of the same level. Also, when adding fillings, make sure to put buttercream on the border of each layer to avoid the filling from dripping towards the sides. Buttercream hardens when chilled but fillings do not. Before the crumb coating, chill the cake for about 5 mins -JUST ENOUGH to harden the buttercream borders, to avoid the cake layers from slanting or slipping. If you can work in a cool environment, that would also help a lot, to avoid melting the chilled buttercream boarders while frosting the cake. Also, when scraping the frosting on the sides, make sure to hold your cake scraper on the same level ( the bottom level should be touching the cake board).
