Very true sis, l don’t why people turn to these trends when our natural hair needs the oils and butters, l personally did The no oil no butter for 2 weeks unintentionally , and my hair was breaking off and it was completely dry like a dry leaf 🍂. Great content darling

I know that dry leaf feeling 😅 Glad you liked the video 🤎

Okay this. I got attacked by the cult for saying it didn't work on my hair. Tried it 3 separate times and each and every time, my hair got so dry, tangled, dry, broke off, dry, got sparse at the ends, dry, refused to retain water, weak, did I mention dry? If you're hunting for that insane individual curl definition, then go ahead, do that and do wng's. That method is _heavy_ on the manipulation and that can be excessive for some people (me). I'm going to do what has worked beautifully for me: hot oil, shampoo, dc, herbal treatments, and oils n grease, with low manipulation and mid term to long term p.s. aka start with 2 months and work upto 5-6 months.
@justbeuneik3 жыл бұрын
People are always going to create a new trend. It doesn't mean it's going to work for everyone. After watching a few videos on this new trend, you're limited to only wash n go's. Having APL/BSL hair that's a NO for me. I haven't done a wash n go for about 2 years now. I'm sticking to what I know best. And yes it's when you're not clarifying properly that's when the build up starts happening. But people what to create these new trends in order to get our money. I'm going to continue to put money into butters, oils, and other staple products that have continued to help my hair to thrive.

I literally got blocked on tiktok when I replied to video of someone praising the no oils and no butters trend. Someone commented that their hair was breaking off because of this and I replied and told them to keep doing what they were doing with their hair and stop this crazy trend. The person who made the tiktok told her " oh that's just your hair detoxing itself" and I was like wtf? This lady is giving out trash advice and the fact that people are believing her are insane. She ended up blocking me when I called her insane and I would say it again if I could.

My dear I think you are right. I was trying this no oils butters thing and my hair was down to my tailbone. Recently I looked at my ends and it didn't look right and I end up trimming almost 4 inches off my hair. Smh. We need to focus on what works for each person.
@rrrrrrrrrrrrrrr6312 жыл бұрын
from the videos I've watched on this, I've come to the conclusion that oils/butters aren't inherently bad for your hair but it does inhibit curl definition by stopping your hair from clumping. So if you'd like curl definition, limit your oils/butters. If you don't really care about curl definition but like your hair with oils/butters, continue to use them and just make sure you're washing your hair often and clarifying your hair on a regular basis as well.

The key of curl definition is technique and manipulation. I don't use haircare products and I get definition with a melt of butter, oils and glycerine.

I agree totally. In my opinion, butters should be applied on freshly washed hair to seal in products. They are not meant to be used every day as they will probably caused build up. My hair specially my ends, loves Shea, olive oil, honey, Aloe Vera but does not like coconut oil at all.

It's all about moderation they say but it also depends on the environment whether dry or humid environment. I grew up with coconut oil application on my hair for every washing. No shampoo, just fresh coconut milk or oil. Because of that I have very thick and strong hair.
