you were actually correct about herschend investing in wild adventures. in september they announced water's edge boardwalk expansion. it will include new rides (no coasters), a show stage, eateries, games, and more. last month they also just opened their new safari campground.

Sell. Six Flags New England's only competition in the region is a ragtag collection of much smaller parks, whose advantage is that they're closer to the clientele and arguably have more of a family atmosphere. The company can ignore it for long periods of time without hurting it much, so they probably will. What I think it actually needs now is not a coaster but a major dark ride with some family appeal, which several of those smaller parks actually have! But I doubt that's coming any time soon.

Here's the thing about the American Heartland park: it's an hour away from NW Arkansas, which is home to Walmart, JB Hunt, Tyson... I think that's why it's getting built where it is.
