With the 3ds closing around the corner I thought it was time to let you folks know about some cool games that you might not have heard of. The3ds has been a great portable system to me over the years and I have acquired a good amount of games for the system over the years. Its sad to see the system losing certain functions like buying digital games, but at least we have time to make some final purchases on the eshop.

Hi @RadicalReggie have you checked put the Silver Falls series. This series is created by one person and he made the last few New games on the Wii U and 3DS before the closure. His last game is coming out Mar 9 2023 Silver Falls Gaiden Deadly Delusion.

Totally agree. I still have my physical copy of the original. One of the best RPGs I've ever played. Plus the combat system is amazing. Nothing quite like it.

I bought it digitally because the physical copy was too expensive. I’m glad I played it, but to be honest I thought the two timelines weren’t done as well as I would’ve liked. It was cool having to switch between them to progress, but they both ended up feeling exactly the same to me. I regularly lost track of which timeline I was in and who I’d already met in which one. The additional content in the 3DS version was, in hindsight, brilliant. Although it did feel as though the game was never going to end once I’d beaten what I thought was the final boss! Overall, I really liked it, but it’s definitely not perfect in my opinion.

I would love to see them expand and expound on the concept, maybe with greater divergence from a further point in history or even multiple time streams to travel through, with “butterfly effect” repercussions and the like. Though the game kind of gave me an idea for a story I’m working on, about how historical events are themselves affected by the recording of history, and the use of time travel to find the truth of defining events.

That sega 3d classics collection is the hidden gem in the system 🤣 in Japan there were like 3 volumes, you got outrun, space harrier, thunder force, all the greats in 3d!

The Gunvolt OVA has been rereleased a few times but unfortunately only a niche releases in Japan, most recently as a DVD (region free apparently) which was included in a limited edition for Gunvolt 2 Double Pack. Doubt it is worth the effort unless it was genuinely lost media or could be found for 1000 yen or less.

Funny enough I just picked up and started playing Radiant Historia, the DS version. I kept hearing good things about it... but Holy crap I didn't expect ir to be as good as it was. Definitely worth checking out!

I got lucky with Radiant Historia physical on a local store a bit before older games started getting crazy expensive. The only one i've played is liberation maiden and can agree it's really good, too bad there's not more of it.

I'm hearing more and more about Liberation Maiden as the 3DS closure draws near. I was excited for the game when it launched, but some sources have called it repetitive.

Fair play to those who purchase digital titles just don't see the point if already own physical copies to run a backup of that game except of course the exception of digital only titles

Hey Reggie, I remember some past discussion about Metroid Prime and how you've never played it because you love 2D Metroid. But since Prime remastered has come out, I strongly hope you will play through Prime. I honestly believe it exceeds the 2D games as it truly is one of the most immersive and fun games of ALL TIME!

I grabbed SMTIV, SMTIV:Apocalypse, SMT:Strange journey, PQ, PQ2, SMT: Devil Survivor, SMT:Devil Survivor 2 and Dragon Quest VII! I own most of these physical already but damn, they are already worth double what i paid for them and if those prices are about to shoot up for physicals like everyone says, i have no issues selling them for WAYTOOMUCH!

Nice list of recommendations, man! Although I was a little disappointed that you didn't put any footage for Soul of Darkness with YOUR face in it lol. Also, speaking of Liberation Maiden, I'd also recommend the other Guild 01 and Guild 02 games from Level 5: - Aero Porter - Bugs vs Tanks! - Crimson Shroud - Weapon Shop de Omasse - Attack of the Friday Monsters! A Tokyo Tale - The Starship Damrey Each game offers something unique, so everyone can find a favorite amongst those 7 games. Plus, it's from Level 5, you can't go wrong with anything they release. That cat game looks dope, I should give it a try.

Radiant Historia PC is a masterpiece but other than time travel I don't think its very much like Chrono Trigger.. It's arguably the best game on the system and would be criminal not to be rereleased on a newer console sometime down the line.. Another couple of my favs are Stella Glow and Fire Emblem Awakening..

I know a bunch of us like you and I, MJ and the early Retro collectors before the publicly 2010-2016 boom are veterans by now and ushered in the new generations! I’m super passionate for the hobby and enjoy it! There’s lots of stuff coming which I can’t confirm or speak of except for what I’ve been noticing! The new wave for me is Collectors editions, and sealed physicals preserved in the protective cases for display, in essence a epic comic book collection if that makes sense and then being extremely patient for the digital sales. I think a great tool for a collector like me would be a digital museum of my collectors editions so I wouldn’t have to open them. The purpose of my style of collecting is satisfying for me, maybe leave it for my children or to have it discovered one day once I pass as a remarkable discovery for the hobby. 😊

FYI the DLC for Radiant in regards to price is very cheap. Just checked. I want to add dragon quest 8. I would like to get all the dragon quest games for 3DS but if it's just one then it's just one. It's my fault for passing it by and saying I'll buy it another day I'll buy it another day... And now that's not possible. Thankfully though I still haven't played radian historia but I picked it up one day years ago collector's edition unbeknownst to me as to what the game was but it looked cool sounded cool and it was a collector's edition. Sadly the box has been abused but it's still in okay condition. I'll definitely take you up on your information about picking up the DLC for it. As well as seeing the comments here and some of the suggestions some of the people have made. Here's my suggestions that have been suggestions I've heard from others In regards to the shop closing so credits to whoever throughout the KZbin videos I've been watching over the what past many months. Bugs versus tanks, drancia saga, 3DS classics kid Icarus, tumble Pop for Game boy which might probably come to the switch now..., Kirby's block Ball for the Game boy again might come to the switch now, shantae for Game boy color you never know might come to the switch now, Ash 3DS, air race Zeno and speed, The lost town the dust, dark void Zero, valet parking 1989 seriously this is fun, bird and beans, aura Aura climber, brunch panic really this is actually a fun game, mystical Ninja on Game boy, sky piece I think Reggie recommended this a while back, gurumin3d, kingdom's item shop, Sakura samurai, undead bowling, kersploosh, zombie Slayer d i o x, undead nightmare storm, Ninja Battle heroes, choose a denpamen game I went with three, iron Fall invasion, photo dojo, Steamworld Tower defense, crimson shroud, And I'm sure there's many more I'm missing and I'll also throw a shout out to Dead heat breakers and the first Dylan's western world because supposedly the second one is more of the same but dead heat is a change for the series. A lot of people say attack of the Friday monsters I agree with that one, gotcha racing, I vouch for tank troopers It's fun to play while you're walking around outside Just don't do it in traffic 🤣

I'm actually shocked this was just the 5 recommendations, thought it was gonna be something bigger, I know there's other wild and interesting games on the 3DS e Shop aside from the hidden gems here, like Moon Chronicles which is a episodic remake of a DS horror FPS to DSi ware, yes I said that right where you can get stuff like Melty Milky Way I think it was called, it was developed by Wayforward about all that needs to be said aside from being exclusive to the DSi ware, which is the last place to buy it is on the closing 3DS e Shop.

Europe never got Shin Megami Tensei IV physical so it'll be GONE once Eshop closes, it's only 20€ and easily among my fave JRPGs! Also shout-out to Etrian Odyssey games, some are ridiculously expensive on EU region, but eshop for like 10-30€. DAMN YOU REGION LOCK! :(
