Hi guys, not a Ned specific comment here. 4 months ago I got to borrow my cousins kayak and brought along a baitcaster and a friend gave me a little piece of junk hollow frog bought off Amazon for 5pcs@$10. Its was crap! I hooked about a 5#er after a few days going to this pond nearby. Since then I've been painfully aware what real life addiction looks like-to tackle, gear, and especially techniques! Thanks forever to yall both for the videos that have started to change my life in a specific and amazing way. I'm an ex-drinker who needed a healthy outlet so badly- and have rediscovered a passion from my childhood thanks to that cousin, a China frog, and the information you both provide so readily and consistently! I could never say thanks in a way that would properly express how life has changed for the better here in Maine for me... so grateful to the powers of the universe that have realigned my senses of what's important and real and good. Thanks again forever for helping this happen. Best wishes TZ

Due to a freak accident to my casting hand, I've come back to conventional bass fishing after primarily fly fishing for the past 15 years. I found your channel and read a lot of your reviews and picked up new rods and reels to outfit myself. I also repeatedly watched all your finesse technique videos, especially the ned rig ones, so I could try them out on the water. I tried the ned rig this past weekend on a local river in rainy, low 50s weather. Threw a green pumpkin TDR on a 1/16 Owner block head jig using 10lb Sunline Asegai braid with a 8lb FC leader. First fish was a small 10 inch Largemouth. Second fish I landed on the ned rig was a 5lb Largemouth! Now I am excited to try shaky head rigs, neko rigs, drop shot, etc. and see how that goes! Thank you Matt and Tim for all the great info and tips! I'm a proud follower of your channel now!

Matt and Tim, Nice to see you devote an entire buyers guide to The Ned Head a finesse style bait. Tossing one of those on Matt’s Conquest casting rod would be nice. I can not fit a Conquest in my budget but if anyone is looking to go finesse and use a bait caster I suggest the Phenix Feather 7’ 1” light 4 to 10 lbs line weight. Don’t let the low line rating fool you. This rod has a lot of backbone once you get into it, nice soft tip to load up those light lures. I have horsed a few 3, 4, 5 and 6 lbs small mouth and large mouth on it. A joy to fish with, very light in hand paired with the right reel. A balanced combo as you mentioned in your recent video. I am waiting for the Curado K MGL to become available so I can pair the two up. I think it will be the perfect budget finesse combo. Tight Lines to all.

Awesome video as always guys...I just got back into bass fishing back in June after a 20year lay off and started hearing about the ned rig. I didn't start with the original TRD I saw a Jacob Wheeler video about a TRD Bugz in Green Pumpkin I went to the little lake just down from my house a few weeks after I got the ned rig and I had a pretty good day and from that point I have thrown ned rig 80% of the time. I almost always catch something on a Ned almost every time I go out. Large Mouth, White Bass, Carp, even a catfish lol I use a medium action 7' rod on straight spiderwire...I'm still working on the braid to Fluorocarbon leader.

Great videos guys. You were a big part of me returning to the lakes. However, I believe I am about to hang bass fishing up for good. I stopped fishing for nearly 10 years bc I was tired of being stuck on the bank. I got back into bass fishing again heavy and starting going 3 days or more prior to work for a few hours. But… once again… dry foot fever is kicking in again. Fishing from the bank has huge limitations that are pushing me away again. I love bass fishing but without having a way to cover water it severely limits my fishing season. Hell I’d take a jon boat with a smaller motor and foot controlled trolling motor but the funds just aren’t there. I bust my butt every single day to make a living but a boat isn’t in my near future… if I had a boat to cover water I would fish year around without a hint of quit but dry land is a bummer and once again killing my love. Anyways… keep up the tactical videos!

In the description it says your preferred set up is the Ultegra 1000 or for budget the Nasci 2500. Which would you guys go with I'm not super concerned with the 50 dollar difference in price if its worth extra performance.
