I have totally freaked out and sold all my spinning outfits for BFS gear. I find the ned rig is perfect for this system. I have a Dobyns 700 and a 740 both with a Shimano Aldebaran reel. I can't remember having so much fun with this system in my life. Thanks for all the tips and information, you guys do an excellent job!!!

These buyers guides are almost like the annual kickoff to the holiday season for me. Once you put out that first buyer's guide right after Thanksgiving, it's really the event that starts the run to Christmas for me. Always look to pick up new things during these buyers guides in terms of either new baits, new techniques, new rods, new reels, and or affirmation of the stuff that I'm using if it shows up in your buyer's guide. I'm certain it's a ton of work to put together all those videos and I know that the community that follows you appreciates it every year. Wishing you and yours a very happy and healthy holiday season. Look forward to more great tactical bassin content in the new year.

I have come to learn just today how special the NED rig can be. I took my wife fishing and the problem was that she is mainly familiar with saltwater fishing by just throwing some baited hook out and waiting to get bites. Being that she wasn’t familiar with more technical techniques and I didn’t have much that the conditions and her skill would allow much success in doing. I happened to set her up with a Ned rigged Zman bugz. She managed to get a few bites and landed a bass under conditions that even I struggle to get bit. I brought out a similar setup, only the bait was the Zman crawz and I started getting bites and landed a bass myself. The Ned is so perfect for beginners and tough conditions. Thx for explaining the finer points of the technique over the years.

A Ned Rig with a green pumpkin ZMan TRD has caught the most fish for me this year on my home lake in North Texas for largemouth and Table Rock for smallmouth, spotted and largemouth. I always have one tied on. I was glad to see you choose a Daiwa BG spinning reel since those are on my Ned and finesse shakey head rods. A shakey head with a green pumpkin finesse zoom worm has also been very productive for me and my buddy this year.

Great video and very informative thank you for the content. I haven’t really used a Ned rig yet though I plan to I have used the z man craw on a plan jig head and usually catch the bigger smallmouth. I love the molting craw color because when I’m using live crawfish and I find a molting craw it will catch fish as soon as it hits the water and multi species too. They made an awesome bait. Thanks guys for the video now I know what to look for in a Ned rig.

One head that you really need to try is the Deeks Dead spin . TW sells them. This head will change your life. I’m crushing bass in low 40 degree water on a pressured lake with the Deeks dead spin. Pin a Keitech 2.8 or a Zman Trd on it and it’s game on.

I've been rocking the Robo worm ned bait for a long long time, same with that missile baits one you had is another I locked onto and have had great success with. And as for Zman I'm a big fan of the bugz version you showed over any other Zman ned bait. And for jigs I've been a fan of a few but especially the skirted version of Zman ned jigs. But everything you guy's choose to show as examples are all great and a few are my personal go to baits when ned fishing.

Hello Tim, I watched the previous year's Ned rig video and your take on rods in that video was that the longer the better? And in fact you had recommended a couple of different 7 ft 4 to 7 ft 6 medium light to light rods. What is it that has you changing your mind from longer rods are better for techniques like Ned Rigs to using a 6 ft 10 light or medium light rod is now the best option ??

Hello Matt and Tim. I'm a subscriber, and really like an appreciate what you're putting out there. Quick question for someone who is new to ned rigs. Why are the ned rig heads you recommend so relatively light? 1/10th/15th ounce. Seems soooo light to me. Is it the combination of the rig head and the bait that combine to help get the combo to the bottom. I'm just thinking of water with some amount of current or water that is "choppy". Thanks for your advice and comments.

For shits and giggles, I put a 2.5" Cover Scat 0n a 1/16th oz. EWG Owner block head last year. I think I might have stumbled upon some magic, at least in my neck of the woods. I was wondering if that Savage Gear Salamander will fit on the Owner EWG Block Head properly with that narrow spot in the middle? I am going to have to try a few packs of them regardless, Matt has mentioned them to many times to continue to ignore it. Tightlines guys and Marry X-Mas to you and yours!
