Buying a car at Autohus.de, the biggest car trader in Germany

My Dad was looking for a new Audi A4. After searching for months, we finally found the right one at Autohus. Everything seemed right even the price, so we took a 3 hour drive to go there. I did make a reservation for that car, which turned out to be very needed.

Cool video! So I have some questions. I'm searching for a new car and I'm actually thinking about buying one from Germany but the process is a bit unclear to me. The situation is that I currently live in Romania so the car would leave Germany. What is the process after you see a car you want? If the TUV expired that means the car has no license plates? If the TUV is new or still valid it means that I can get it out of Germany without any other steps? Any information that you can provide on this is much appreciated, thank you!

Buying a car in Germany is rather easy, but it has done things to be careful of. If you want to drive the car home, you need an export license. That requires a valid tuv. So make sure you buy one with a valid tuv. The seller should be able to help you with it. You need to take the car to the strassenverkehrsamt and apply for the record license. When buying a car, make sure it has the maintenance records, since that's the only proof of it's mileage. If a car sold from private or in consignment (kundenauftrag) be very careful, since that's what's used to dump bad cars at unknowing buyers without all legal buyer rights. Pfff long story. I have done it too often as my business used to be helping people with buying and importing cars, mainly from Germany and the states.

@@Siemi1 Thank you for providing some details on this, I appreciate it! So in order for me to export it, it would need license plates and valid TUV. In case the car I want doesn't have it I can assume the dealership can assist with that and that the process is not that difficult? My main concern is that I don't know what to look for in terms of paperwork. I guess it would be easy to verify the mileage of a car in the official dealership, if the car was indeed taken to the manufacturing dealership and not local shops of some sort. I'm only looking for cars at dealerships with high ratings over on mobile.de and not on private sellers.

Hoi tijdens een aankoop van een auto in duitsland dan betaal je volgens mij de netto prijs voor export wat ik hoorde, klopt dit?

Als je hem zakelijk koopt, dan kun je hem netto kopen, aangezien je in Nederland geen Duitse BTW kunt verrekenen. Als particulier moet je in Duitsland wel btw betalen. Dat is trouwens gunstiger, aangezien de btw in Duitsland iets lager is.

Hallo ik wil ook bij dat autohus gaan kijken voor een auto. Nu vraag ik me af wat voor kosten komen er nog extra bij alleen die jij noemde of zijn er nog meer? En is het ook mogelijk om de auto meteen mee te nemen of zit daar een bepaalde tijd aan vast? Op hun site staat iets van minimaal 24uur maar is mij niet duidelijk. Alvast bedankt

Als je zelf een kenteken hebt om hem mee naar huis te rijden, of op een aanhanger, dan kun je hem meteen meenemen. Als autohus een export kenteken moet verzorgen kost dat een dag extra. De kosten daarvan waren 299 euro inclusief alles. Verder waren er geen bijkomende kosten, maar ook geen mogelijkheid tot onderhandelen.

The car we bought was in the location Bremen. The other location is at Bockel, directly at the Autobahn.

@@user-sm9he2gq3s It is actually Moonshine Blue. My dad is still driving it and enjoying it everyday. With the current cold weather, the aux. heating is awesome.
