I agree. Edge stitching isn’t that nice! I think it’s hard to decide on a bag but everything should be perfect!

Haha yes! I feel like the edge stitching makes the quilts look less puffy too but it might just be in my head.

One of the most important questions I ask myself is a very obvious one but I learned it the hard way. It is, “when can I use this, and can I use it all the time?” When I became able to buy luxury bags, I would buy what I liked and looked nice and would “find” ways to use it. Years later I barely use my first two Chanel bags because they are mostly for the winter time, and one actually for a special occasion during a fall/winter time (imagine that🤦‍♀️). Don’t get me wrong, I really love these two bags and I did use them, but if I could go back in time I wouldn’t buy them in such a season specific color/material. I wish I got them in a more all season neutral color and material so I can get a lot more wear out of them.

Yes omgosh I did the same exact thing and just bought based off of looks. And my entire first Chanel bag purchase and subsequent sale was such a learning experience. I bought it for $4900+tax, sold it for $2900, and rebought the same bag but in lambskin for another $4900 😂 I essentially paid more than today’s price for one bag.

Very helpful for newbies to chanel. Great info!! I’m trying to finish up my overall chanel collection between now and next year. I think I will always add a shoe or accessories if it’s speaks for me but I hope to wrap up the last 3 on my wishlist. I just scored my perfect 19. My last 3 on my list are a vintage dark beige classic, a classic flap in the perfect yellow and a tweed bag. I hate chanel prices but admittedly it’s my favorite brand

I feel the same way as you - that’s why I keep going back 🙈 I’m trying to get everything I want from them asap too because I just can’t imagine paying over $5000 for any bag from them. When I bought my first medium classic flap it was $4900 and now I wouldn’t be surprised if the minis hit $5000 in the next year.

Another great video! I am indifferent to edge stitching. The only reason I like it is because it seems better value, as you say more work goes into it 😂

There are some caviar CF that do NOT have edge stitching.. I don't mind it for the most part, except for the M/L - it looks horrible on that shape for some reason imho

Haha I think the smaller the bag, the worse it looks with edge stitching and I have no idea why I feel that way. I’ve spent way more time than I want to admit analyzing this one detail 😅

The larger cf like maxi and jumbo i can tolerate but mediums and minis, I definitely think it takes away from the overall positive aesthetic of the bag. same for cocos.. i think maybe because there's less area to play with? lol idk
