This is the best-produced product unboxing and first impressions video I've ever seen in the disc golf content space! Seriously, from the video quality, camera placements, shot choreography, post-production work, to scripting and the level of detail across so many areas that need to be covered in a video like this. Absolutely inspiring from a content creation standpoint. Keep up the fantastic work, Justin!

Thanks Nick, it means a lot! I remember when I got the backpack I said, “alright, I’ll just do a quick unboxing video, nothing special, and then I’ll get back to the Berg vs Berg X video”…. Yeah, that never happens for me 🤪

@@JustDisc Well it was time and effort well invested! It really was a joy to watch this. Before I got into the disc golf space I spent a decade in the consumer electronics space on this platform, and there's an art to showing products so the viewers can best understand what it is, and if it's something worth them considering spending their hard earned money for something they might use for years. That needs to be fostered and developed for the disc golf product space. 🙂

Merci! Great review! FYI floppy pockets and less structure when under loaded is By design-Levi sez it is designed to be fully or mostly fully loaded. It’s designed To use the discs to hold structure. And be as ergonomic when walking. This also addresses your sag concern. When walking, this rides more like a backpacking backpack. The slight sag in discern while walking is a part of why it feels like it’s half full to you aS you mentioned. It contours to your back and distributes weight accordingly. Hard base plates in other bags prevent this. Also, while I agree that the bottom of the bag looks less durable that other bags, Pound argues that that quality of cordura doesn’t wear out and so anything in addition is overkill. This matches my experience with a 6 year old octorhirpe that I and my friend who bought if for me have seriously abused. It’s rarely the bottom of the bag that actually wears out and so any extra material is just weight. Furthermore, a flexible bottom with no base plate allows the bag to mold To rocky surfaces you set it on and thus help it stand up. The NEGATIVE of this bag is only that when the bottom Compartment is not full, for some that may be an issue but at least it’s good to know that this is By design

My first bag was a Husky tool bag for $15 from Home Depot. I was then inspired by a Matt Orum video in which he was using a jogger stroller, and I found one at a yard sale for $10 and it’s been a gem. This bag looks nifty, but I simply can’t justify the cost.

Looks like you have a great setup! No need to make an expensive purchase like this 👍😎

Very nice bag 💪🏼🇺🇸 and awesome customization options, but it’s just too pricey. At that price point I can get a zuca cart and a $200 bag. Or a $200 bag, and a cart 🛒 to roll that bag around and still have $120 left over…. That pound bag did look super comfortable… and those shoulder straps looked plush 👌🏼

I was interested in this, and like the top part of the bag for putters which is something I really look for, but dont love the side pockets and the lack of other feature like netting that I use in my current AGL bag. I wonder without good footing, how upright this will stay. One of the issues I have with my AGL bag is that it tips easily. My DD Commander does not but it lacks putter space up top and side pocket features. For $500 no thanks!
@JustDisc4 ай бұрын
Yeah, it’s just not worth it in the end. We will be concluding our final thoughts in the future, but overall, it just doesn’t have enough going for it. It does stand up well, and its best feature is its comfort/shoulder straps 👍

@@JustDisc that's what I got from your video. Want to support them but that price is just too much for not enough.

Have you compared to a squatch?
@JustDisc6 ай бұрын
We have yet to try one. We know they pretty much copied Pound’s designs. From what we hear, it’s just as good except you lose a bit of quality. Honestly, if you can get a good deal on a Squach, you should be quite happy!
@andyendicott38706 ай бұрын
As someone who has an Octothorpe and a Squatch. I prefer the Squatch. The bag stands up better as it's a bit more rigid, phone pocket is awesome for tournament players, drink sleeves are taller, putter pocket is bigger. Those are the big pieces. Pounds are great, not bashing them, but for my use I prefer Squatch.

Every Pound review essentially boils down to: The only downside is the price.
@JustDisc6 ай бұрын
If they just lowered their price by $100 they’d have a lot more buyers
@NathanAus1236 ай бұрын
@@JustDisc considering you had to wait 3 months for yours, it doesn't sound like they need more buyers.

I'm sure it's the most common answer. Hard to justify that cost. Grip has a lifetime warranty. You can get a cart, premium bag, nice stool, umbrella, and a small premium bag for about the same price. The value isn't there.
@JustDisc6 ай бұрын
As of right now, the value is not there. We would most definitely agree. After our testing, we’ll for sure be able to confirm or deny this statement 👍

All good! And you are correct, it’s not worth it, but we had to eventually see if Pound actually makes the best bags. They do, but should be half the price. We’ve got none equipment review videos coming up, so not to worry 👍

if its worth it or not is up to each person. i think most of the pound owners would say its worth it actually. im one of them :) and i dont have alot of money and i dont even play too much disc golf as of late. still worth it since its just THAT good and comfy :D for me, that is. and i live in sweden, so i payed alot more than an american or even canadian would pay. close to 650 dollars few years ago, and it wasnt even a custom, but a limited at that time, so a custom would have been even more. STILL worth it :)
