Regarding the baffles at the back of the camera body. What are important condition issues to look for? I have seen quite a few with what appear to be vertical cracks on the baffles.

Hasselblad (and Leica) starting using a material in the 1990s to reduce flare and it hasn’t stood the test of time. It’s a thin flocking and is glued to the baffles and inside of the cameras. It shrinks and causes the cracks you see. It doesn’t affect performance in the slightest except when it gets very bad and disintegrates - bits can then end up on digital sensors.

Good video but i bought a distagon f4 50mm C lens it dosent have scratches on the front or back elements but it has many thin scratches on the inside on one of the elements. It does not look like fungus do you think this will affect the photos?

Probably not, but best to test to see. Hope it’s okay!

Thanks for this info getting back to film . I have a 500 c hass, and 2 lenses 40mm distagon old but still works also a 80mm planar , the 40mm produces negatives the 80mm dose not any suggestions, when looking through the back I seems to work ?

Maybe the shutter is miss-firing and massively under exposing? Or perhaps the aperture is sticking closed? Whatever the issue it’ll need to be serviced. There isn’t an easy fix - sorry!

Great lens but hard to sell for a strong price. A Hasselblad 503CX is more valuable so I don’t think you’ll find anyone willing to do straight swap.
Buying a used Hasselblad? Checks to make when buying secondhand (500C 500CM 503CX 503CW 501C 501CM).
