Buying a house is future proofing because when you have a family, your kids will have playground, your backyard. Sure it is a lot of work, (mura lang naman magpamow ng lawn sa Pinas) but it’s worth it coz you have a lot of freedom. With condo, you are only technically paying the right to live but not really owning the space per say. At pag nagkaroon ng Earthquake (God forbid) at nadamage ang building, say goodbye to your millions, coz they won’t pay you. Just my two cents,hehe! Peace Mudra! Love you😍🥰

Condo is actually more of an eco-friendly choice. Just imagine the fuel saved from a garbage truck going around a sprawling village versus picking it up from a garbage room of a building. I'd personally push for vertical development over a sprawling one. Condos also allow living within walkable distance to the mall, parks, & offices. If you buy a house and lot in the nearby provinces and your work is in MM you will need to travel by car everyday which is not good for the environment.

been in the industry for more than 20 years and had been involved in high rise/high end projects. i do always recommend buying a house - the structure deteriorates/depreciates but not the land. in condos, what does your unit costs after 10/15 years? unless you are into buying and selling wherein you can still gain in a few years (5?) after buying it :)

I'm for team House. A building's structural integrity is only good for 50 years. At least when you buy a house, the lot it stands on is also yours. if you're still alive after 50 years, your kid's can demolish the house and build a newer and much stronger house.

Advantage of condo is the security, generator in case of power outages, amenities and flood free. Disadvantages, expensive monthly dues, lack of outdoor space and you have to buy a parking slot for each car (depends on how many cars you have). And finally your electric bill is higher since your ac will be on most of the time compared to a house you just open the windows. Try McKinley hills of Megaworld.

Buulding and maintaining a house is difficult but its worth it. Just because its hard doesnt mean you should go the easy way which is a lesser more expensive condo. Your mom is getting old thats why she wants something easy but im sure deep inside she knows a house is better. And its more suitable for a guy whose life is ahead of him.

House's can depreciate just as easy as it can appreciate. You don't really own a house till after the term of the loan, unless you pay upfront in cash the full price. IDK what you mean by condo, it’s not yours really after 50 yrs. You do not have neighborhood association fees there? condo dues are the for upkeep and maintenance. This cost is shared by all. You are responsible for all that with a house plus any association fees with a house. The point being there are pros and cons to both. Really it comes down to, what are your plans in the future. Married with kids, then a house makes sense. If not I would consider a condo seriously.

I kind of understand where mudra is coming from. House maintenance is expensive and time consuming. There are pros and cons. With condos it's not a forever home but it's a lot more convenient. Security, accessibility, common area maintenance. At the end of the day, you have to determine what's best for you, your lifestyle and budget.

Hi Will! Finally a vlog! Though it’s not from you main channel. But back on topic. This penthouse...for 70mln pesos= approx: 1.2mln EUROS....the interior is like made out of IKEA returned items. All I’m getting at is that having a house does not necessarily measure someone’s maturity level. Sometimes privilege takes part in that and the opportunities one has been given. Sobra naman kasi ang mahal ng price nasa Pinas na nga eh. Kaya nga nakakaloka dahil ang dami pa ring mga super pulibe na walang matirahan ng matinong bahay sa greatetr Manila. The pyramid is still unclimbable sa Pinas! You may have the view of supposedly the "nice green" sa Ortigas area, pero tumingin ka sa kabila, puro squatter naman. I think the 75m estimation of austria is right. Maybe Vice's house can reach 100 m if it is located in one of the premiere subdivisions like ayala alabang, green meadows and other A- to A subdivisions...

You can have both, Wil. One is for investment and the other one is for "convenience". Though you can't maintain the house as much as you can maintain a condo, surely the price of the lot will appreciate big time in the future. Another thing to consider is the natural disaster like the earthquake. If you live in the upper level, the penthouse, it's much easier to escape and go to a safer place if you're living in a low rise house. I know nowadays, most buildings are built as "earthquake proof" but of course you'll never know when will the "big one" happen. You'll need to wait for a reconstruction maybe if the building is greatly damaged.

I prefer a condo! Can't imagine having time to deal with the maintenance of a house. I probably will save up for a retirement home to spend my senior years in the future. But for now, being a "dedicated" career woman I am not seeing myself getting a house and lot yet. ☺️

My suggestion is buy a house and lot na lang mas convenient and you can really say and feel that is your own space. You can do anything you want pa kapag sarili mong bahay plus tumataas value ng lupa after 10 to 20 years mas mahal na 'yan compare sa condo na after 50 years wala na. 😊
