Recently we were contacted by Brian about his dad's lifetime collection of hot rodding and dirt racing parts. Brian's father Leeland, balanced engines for a living and was an big part of the dirt racing community in his area. Leeland also did some racing for some other car owners, and in his own Roadster racer many years ago. Matt and Mike work with the help of the family to load up the 26' box truck with as many parts as they could save. There were a ton of mechanical parts that we were able to save and pass onto other hot rodders!!

Wow Matt, you have such a talent for finding the neatest and rare project cars. That T track roadster with the Ford 6 flathead with such a great nose is one great find! My dad took me regularely to watch them race in the Midwest 1947 until 1954, when he started racing. He took me to the pits several times to see the cars and sit in some. What a treat that was for a 5-year-old kid! Those cars were really popular in California and the midwest. The Granatellis began racing them in Chicago and had a speed shop selling their own Grancor speed equipment. Many Indy drivers got their start in those cars. See the movie "Big Wheel". That should really be a fun build that lots of old timers like me will certainly enjoy! Many thanks for the great videos and all the best to you guys!

Cooool! a 50's-60's track roadster. They were a low bucks way to get into racing. especially in southern California. It wasn't much of a stretch to turn your street roadster or lakester into a track roadster and go racing. there were dirt oval and asphalt tracks that had classes for those kinds of cars. It looks like you found a lot of vintage speed equipment also, double cool. I am looking forward to the unpacking and see what goodies you find.

the full floater 3/4 ton wide five hubs were the standard for years-aluminum copies of them are still used today in nearly all the dirt late model stock cars out there! To put together an early Halibrand Champ rear end you need two ford 3/4 ton left side housings. The champ rear was the big brother to the fairly weak V-8 Quick change that all the rodders want now
