Oh boydoes this resonate with me! Our boy is 4 and we're still struggling. We didn't start early enough either and now he still can't be left alone. We love him to bits, but a doggy sitter is always needed. Our boy is more clingy to me too! Love this site. Love Lotti! ❤

We started conditioning our puppy to be alone in a room just a few days after we brought him home at 8 weeks, he is almost six months and still whines, I’m thinking this is toy poodle specific for the breed…..our experience is similar on the other points as well. I agree with all of these😊

Ohh thanks for the insights!! We always thought it's our fault, even though we know that poodles are kind of clingy and want to be around their family all the time ☺❤ Glad you've made similar experiences! And have the best time with your little poodle, almost the same age as Lotti!

I agree with you. We have a toy poodle that is now 4 months old. We have left him alone since 9wks old. Still sometimes whine when I am going to work. When I get back he goes crazy!

I have a mini poodle and he is fine with being in another room by himself but he gets very anxious when I leave the house

@@poodle_lotti Yes my pup is 20weeks and is clingy. I work but he has someone at home with him and he doesn't like being alone either.

Easier for me to leave our puppy because I also have an 18 month old dog, so she’s never totally alone. I’ve crated her at night and when she’s tired from day one of having her, plus when we leave the house. She happily naps in her crate after exercise, the crate is her bed and she puts herself to bed when she’s tired

my wee lottie is a mirror image your dog she 4.5 yrs old now clever dogs we can now leave her for 5 hrs we got a camera so when we were out so we could speak to her shes fine now camera not needed any more xxx

Not sure if this is true, but I have read that poodles are friendly to all family members but they pick one person to be their main companion

This is true in my case. He loves all the people in the home but I am his main person.

My 4 month standard cries when I leave even though my other family are there she's just so attached to me. I crate trained her too never let her sleep on my bed 😢 maybe it's just normal
