I learned to drive manual on a 97 civic with a fart can exhaust a couple years ago. Only reason I drive automatic right now is because it's extremely difficult to get a Mercedes with a manual transmission. I use manual mode all the time tho and love to hear the v8 growl

In our country (Germany) its not allowed to straight piped a car. We have a station called "Tüv". Every German car has to go there every two years. Then your car gets checked if there are technical issues or non original car parts If you straightpipe your car your "Tüv license" get lost and You're not longer allowed to drive the car on the Road. Grand PA had one ! it's a blast and You can put a lot of parts from future models in it like the RNS-e GPS with... TV enabled. I know they whatch TV while driving in Germany and this car is capable to do it with the right mods. And the engine is incredible. And it's an ultra speed train on the road.

I think it’s a good deal no matter what. Tires and wheels are worth more than $725 and I bet it runs after battery and coolant fix. I had a 2002 5-valve 4-cylinder turbo Passat Wagon that went almost 300,000 miles. Aside from small oil leak, it ran fine at the end. I only sold it because I found a used 2016 A6 in beautiful condition. I also recently bought a 2008 VW VR6 4-Motion Wagon with 135,000 miles that runs like a charm (I’ll post a video soon). VW/Audi products often need a lot of TLC along the way, but they’ve been durable in my experience. Thanks for your awesome videos!

Good stuff, but almost certainly the D2 needs a new transmission. It's the main reason they wind up at auctions. It's a ZF box, but there are rebuilds and upgraded TQ converters, and of course, manual swaps. Good luck.

Beautiful paint on the S8. Can't say more till it runs It was pretty quick for a big car. Gonna B fun. About the damage, the entire engine is forward of the frnt. axle and the frame is aluminum . . . so there is possibly some expensive hidden damage behind the valance. Oh, how much HP has this one got. It ranged from 310 to 360 depending on the market. All in all a great deal. Thanks.

When we owned a repair center, we loved spoiling our customers. It didn't matter what the vehicle came in for, we die walk around inspection. This included polishing out headlight bezels, parking light lenses, tail light lenses. We checked all the fluids, cleaned the battery cables, and lots more. We used McQuires cleaner and polish on all the lenses. We thought if you sent a family member to our shop to get a small item repaired, and the vehicle wouldn't start tomorrow, you wouldn't like so much anymore. However if we found a potential breakdown item, you would really appreciate it. My main comment is the acquired for your headlight lenses.

I had one of these S8s a long time ago. The transmissions usually go out at about 60,000 miles. The car does not feel as quick as it is, and is not very comfy for a big luxury car. Maintenance is expensive. So they are rare for a reason. But the Bauhaus style is nice and timeless, methinks. And the seats really were good.
