Here in Europe we use only 5w40 in VW's, Jetta, Golf, Passat.These TDI's last 700.000-800.000 kilometers without major problems.

A week ago, I bought an Italien beauty for my wife which has nearly 70000 km left on it's timingbelt, but it's more than 11 years old, so we have to change it instantly. As others have already mentioned, your timing belt service is the stuff of ancient history at this point. It is definitely due for replacement based on age. It can be a DIY service if you've got a few tools and enough talent to find your way out of a paper sack. ;-) The previous owner definitely paid up for maintenance on that car... ouch. I've done most of the same service on my '03 S8 for far less.

I HAD A 97 A8 IT WAS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD USED WHEN I BOUT IT IN 2001 I HAVE GOT EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THE CAR FOR $ 2000.00 AND IN TWO YEARS THE WARRANTY PAYED 16 TIMES OWER MY COST OF THE WARRANTY BUT I STILL LOVED THAT CAR , SINCE THAN MY BEST CAR IS A 2007 VOLVO CROSS COUNTRY I MIGHT BE THE LUCKY ONE HERE BUT MY XC70 IS KK

Check up on the transmission... I was hoping that you’d find a receipt for a trans rebuilt. These D2’s have transmissions that will 100% fail with time once they reach bout 100k-150k... already fixed mine but something I would check on 🤷🏼‍♂️
